11 SMCISD Teachers Receive A+EF Awards

The A+ Education Foundation, a philanthropic arm of the A+ Federal Credit Union, announced the Foundation’s 2015 Educator Grant Program recipients on July 13, 2015. This year the Foundation awarded over $72,000 in grants to 76 educators in Central Texas. Among the recipients were 11 San Marcos CISD educators. They were:
 
  • Maria Thompson (Science Instructional Coach for six elementary schools)
  • Pam Thomas (Bowie Elementary)
  • Priscilla Delgado (Bowie Elementary)
  • Sara Julitz  (Bowie Elementary)
  • Suzanne Braden  (De Zavala Elementary)
  • Clara Adams ( Mendez Elementary)
  • Joanna Breazeale (Travis Elementary)
  • Margaret Battle-Ledford ( Travis Elementary)
  • Amado Chapa III ( Miller Middle School)
  • Chris Cooper (San Marcos High School)
  • Jacquelynn Norman (San Marcos High School)

 

In the past 10 years, the Foundation has awarded over $600,000 to 653 educators who inspire student learning through creative and innovative programs.
 
Foundation President Kerry A.S. Parker said, “Although it’s remarkable to see how technology has influenced recent submissions, the goal of the educators has remained the same—to encourage student learning through hands-on, interactive experiences. The Foundation is honored to support their programs.”
