While challenging, 2020 turned out to be a surprisingly productive year for the non-profit downtown center. The COVID closure and subsequent downturn in in-person activity helped the Center regroup on its services and shift to offering certain classes and art shows via Zoom and online galleries. New enhancements to the website now make it easier to email the Center, inquire about a venue rental, donate, or make a payment, and/or submit artwork for an upcoming show. In addition, the long pause allowed for a major clean-up of the facility including an overdue facelift to the first-floor venues. Several coats of fresh paint in a new color scheme and beautiful new floor have transformed the spaces – last updated in the early 2000’s. A resale shop, which opened in the original 1893 Chapel last fall, also now provides a continuous fundraising source for the Center.
Earlier this month, several in-person activities, including Zumba, Tai Chi, Yoga, and three separate heritage arts groups returned to the Center after being away for more than a year. Venue rentals have begun resuming as well. A live concert and creative workshop this month add to the feeling of returning normalcy to the Center.
The public is cordially invited to attend the annual meeting, and new or renewing members will have the opportunity to pay annual dues on site. Here’s a link to do so online, instead. https://www.price-center.org/how-you-can-help
