SEGUIN– The City of Seguin has a new police chief. City Manager Steve Parker announced today that Jason Brady accepted the City’s offer to serve as Seguin’s next Chief of Police.
Brady, a 29-year veteran of municipal law enforcement, was selected for the department’s top job following a comprehensive search and selection process that drew 50 applicants. He has served as Chief of Police and Emergency Manager in Rollingwood, Texas since 2019.
Brady will be the sixth Chief in the department’s 74-year history and will begin his new role in mid-August.
“I am so pleased to announce the hiring of Seguin’s next Police Chief,” said City Manager Steve Parker. “My goal with this search was to find a servant leader with strong leadership skills and attributes, that would carry on the reputation that our Police Department has worked so hard to build. It is humbling to see the respect that the Seguin community has for Public Safety and I did not want to do anything to tarnish that respect,” said Parker.
Parker also said “I truly believe that Mr. Brady will continue to lead this organization in a positive and collaborative trajectory. In addition to his leadership capabilities, his operational experience in Corpus Christi and Rollingwood truly made him stand out as a top-tier candidate. We are proud to welcome Chief Brady, his wife and kids to our Seguin family.”
Prior to his time at the City of Rollingwood, Brady spent 26 years with the Corpus Christi Police Department (CCPD). He started in 1993 as a police/patrol officer and reached the rank of Captain in 2009, serving in that role until 2019. While at CCPD, Brady oversaw a variety of areas, including Criminal Investigations, Internal Affairs, as well as the Organized
Crime Unit and Support Services. He also served as Patrol Captain, Hostage Negotiations Commander and as the department’s Public Information Officer.
“I am honored to be selected to lead the exceptional men and women of the Seguin Police Department,” said Brady. “I am inheriting an agency with a reputation for integrity, professionalism, and a high level of community engagement. I intend to continue that tradition and strive to be worthy of the trust of our citizens and officers in this diverse and growing community.”
Brady earned a Bachelor of Criminology degree from Ottawa University and a Master of Public Administration degree with an emphasis on Criminal Justice from Texas A&M University in Corpus Christi. He holds both a Master Peace Officer Certification and Police Instructor Certification from the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement and is a graduate of both the FBI National Academy and the Leadership Command College at the Law Enforcement Management Institute of Texas.
He and his wife Patricia have two children, Rebecca, 21 and Reagan, 17.
As Seguin’s Police Chief, Brady will oversee a department of 86 employees, including 62 commissioned officers, and be accountable for a $9.4 million annual budget.

This is the problem with policing.
Police Chiefs are not accountable to the people, because they are appointed and not elected.
