Austin — Short and long-term lane, road closures, and detours that may impact drivers along US 183 and adjacent roadways in east Austin.

Below is an overview of the 183 South project’s lane, road, and ramp closures. Work continues along US 183, including bridge construction, roadway installation, sound wall work, utility work.

The Central Texas Regional Mobility Authority is an independent government agency created in 2002 to improve the transportation system in Williamson and Travis counties.

The Mobility Authority is overseen by a seven-member Board of Directors. The Governor appoints the Chairman, and the Travis and Williamson counties Commissioners Courts each appoint three members to serve on the Board.

Monday (4/5) 8 a.m. until Sunday (4/11) 6 p.m., Techni Center eastbound will be closed. Detour via Central Ave.

RAMP CLOSURE — 4/5/21 to 4/11/21 — PAVING
Monday-Thursday (4/5-4/8) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., Fri (4/9) 8 p.m. to 10 a.m., Sat (4/10) 6 p.m. to 10 a.m., southbound US 183 to eastbound SH 71 ramp will be closed. Detour to westbound SH 71 and U-turn at Riverside Dr.

LANE CLOSURE — 4/5/21 to 4/10/21 — ROADWAY STRIPING
Monday-Friday (4/5-4/9) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., SH 71 eastbound mainlane will be reduced to one lane between E. Riverside Dr. to Brandt Dr.

LANE CLOSURE — 4/5/21 to 4/11/21 — PAVING
Monday-Thursday (4/5-4/8) 8 p.m.- 6 a.m., Fri (4/9) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., Sat (4/10) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., US 183 southbound mainlane will be reduced to one lane from Montopolis to E. Riverside Dr.

RAMP CLOSURE — 4/5/21 to 4/11/21 — PAVING
Monday-Thursday (4/5-4/8) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., Fri (4/9) 8 p.m. to 10 a.m., Sat (4/10) 6 p.m. to 10 a.m., southbound US 183 to westbound SH 71 ramp will be closed. Detour via Spirit of Texas U-turn.

RAMP CLOSURE — 4/7/21 to 4/10/21 — ROADWAY STRIPING
Thursday (4/8) 7 p.m. to 6 a.m., Friday (4/9) 7 p.m. to 10 a.m., the eastbound SH 71 frontage road entry ramp to eastbound SH 71 mainlanes east of E. Riverside Dr. will be closed and the general-purpose will be reduced to one lane between E. Riverside Dr. to US 183. Detour to southbound US 183 then use the U-turn at Metropolis Dr.

LANE CLOSURE — 4/7/21 to 4/26/21 — GUARDRAIL WORK
Monday (3/8) 6 a.m. until Monday (4/26) 6 a.m., US 183 northbound left mainlane will be closed from MLK Blvd. to Manor Rd.

RAMP CLOSURE — 4/7/21 to 4/12/21 — PAVING
Wednesday (2/24) at 8 p.m. until Monday (4/12) at 6 a.m., the eastbound SH 71 ramp to southbound US 183 will be closed. Detour: – Continue past US 183 on eastbound SH 71 – Exit towards Spirit of Texas and use the eastbound-to-westbound U-turn to connect to westbound SH 71 – Use the exit to northbound US 183 – Take the Last Free Exit towards Montopolis Drive – Use the northbound-to-southbound U-turn at Montopolis Drive – Use the left entrance ramp to continue on southbound US 183.

RAMP CLOSURE — 4/7/21 to 4/10/21 — ROADWAY STRIPING
Wednesday-Thursday (4/7-4/8) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., Friday (4/9) 8 p.m. to 10 a.m., Northeast Toll direct-connect ramp will be closed at SH 71. Detour to SH 71 eastbound mainlane to the east to north cloverleaf.

LANE CLOSURE — 4/7/21 to 4/10/21 — GUARDRAIL WORK
Wednesday-Friday (4/7-4/9) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., US 183 southbound mainlane will be reduced to one lane from SH 71 to E. Riverside Dr.

ROAD CLOSURE — 4/5/21 to 4/8/21 — UTILITY WORK
Thursday-Friday (4/8-4/9) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., Access to Levander Loop, US 183 northbound will be closed. Detour via Airport Blvd to US 183 south to Montopolis Dr. U-turn to US 183 north.

LANE CLOSURE — 4/9/21 to 4/11/21 — DRAINAGE WORK
Friday (4/9) 8 p.m. until Sunday (4/11) 5 p.m., US 183 northbound mainlane right two lanes will be closed from Thompson to Montopolis Dr.

ROAD CLOSURE — 4/5/21 to 4/7/21 — SIGN INSTALLATION
Friday (4/9) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., US 183 mainlane in both directions will be closed at SH 71. Detour: Southbound US 183 via U-turn at Riverside, Northbound US 183 via U-turn at Spirit of Texas.

ROAD CLOSURE — 4/9/21 to 4/10/21 — SIGN INSTALLATION
Friday (4/9) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., US 183 mainlane in both directions will be closed at SH 71. Detour: South US 183 via U-turn at Riverside, North US 183 via U-turn at Spirit of Texas.

Saturday (4/10) 6 p.m. to 6 a.m., US 183 southbound on-ramp will be closed at Dubuque Ln.

Sunday ( 4/11) 6 p.m. to 6 a.m., Southbound US 183 mainlane will be reduced to one lane from Cameron Rd. to Manor Rd. and 183 Toll exit will be closed at Manor Rd. Detour 183 south frontage road to on-ramp north of MLK Blvd.

Tuesday-Wednesday (4/13-4/14) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., the southbound US 183 exit ramp to eastbound SH 71 towards @AUStinAirport will be closed. Detour to westbound SH 71 and U-turn at Riverside Drive.

ROAD CLOSURE — 4/14/21 to 4/16/21 — PAVING
Wednesday-Thursday (4/14-4/15) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., Gardner Rd. at US 183 and Levander Loop access to Airport Blvd. will be closed. Detour 183 south to U-turn at Montopolis to Airport Blvd. exit.

RAMP CLOSURE — 4/14/21 to 4/15/21 — UTILITY WORK
Wednesday (4/14) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., 183 Toll south to west SH 71 and east SH 71 to 183 Toll north will be closed.

LANE CLOSURE — 4/14/21 to 4/17/21 — PAVING
Wednesday-Friday (4/14-4/16) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., northbound US 183 mainlane will be reduced to one lane from Bolm to Central Ave. and exit to Techni Center Dr. will be closed at Smith. Exit early at Thompson to access 183 northbound frontage road and Techni Center.

RAMP CLOSURE — 4/16/21 to 4/17/21 — UTILITY WORK
Friday (4/16) 8 p.m. to 12 a.m., US 183 north exit ramp to Smith Rd. will be closed. Exit early at Thompson to access Techni Center Dr.
