183 South scheduled road construction, closures, detours for week of April 19

Austin — Short and long-term lane, road closures, and detours that may impact drivers along US 183 and adjacent roadways in east Austin.

Below is an overview of the 183 South project’s lane, road, and ramp closures. Work continues along US 183, including bridge construction, roadway installation, sound wall work, utility work.

The Central Texas Regional Mobility Authority is an independent government agency created in 2002 to improve the transportation system in Williamson and Travis counties.

The Mobility Authority is overseen by a seven-member Board of Directors. The Governor appoints the Chairman, and the Travis and Williamson counties Commissioners Courts each appoint three members to serve on the Board.

LANE CLOSURE — 4/7/21 to 4/26/21 — GUARDRAIL WORK
Monday (3/8) 6 a.m. until Monday (4/26) 6 a.m., US 183 northbound left mainlane will be closed from MLK Blvd. to Manor Rd.

LANE CLOSURE — 4/12/21 to 4/17/21 — DRAINAGE WORK
Wednesday-Thursday (4/14-4/15) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., Friday (4/16) 8 p.m. to 10 a.m., Southbound US 183 right frontage road lane closed Manor Springdale to Loyola.

LANE CLOSURE — 4/14/21 to 4/17/21 — PAVING
Wednesday-Friday (4/14-4/16) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., southbound US 183 mainlane will be reduced to one lane from US 290 to Loyola.

LANE CLOSURE — 4/14/21 to 4/18/21 — PAVING
Friday (4/16) 8 p.m. to 10 a.m., Saturday (4/17) 6 p.m. to 10 a.m., northbound US 183 mainlane will be reduced to one lane from Bolm to Loyola.

LANE CLOSURE — 4/14/21 to 4/17/21 — DRAINAGE WORK
Wednesday-Friday (4/14-4/16) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., northbound US 183 right frontage road lane will be closed from Loyola to Manor Springdale.

LANE CLOSURE — 4/15/21 to 4/17/21 — GUARDRAIL WORK
Thursday-Friday (4/15-4/16) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., US 183 North exit to Airport Blvd will be reduced to one lane from Montopolis to Levander, 7th St. and 5th St. westbound will be reduced to one lane at US 183.

RAMP CLOSURE — 4/16/21 to 4/20/21 — PAVING
Friday (4/16) 8 p.m. to 10 a.m., Saturday (4/17) 6 p.m. to 10 a.m., Monday (4/19) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., the southbound US 183 exit ramp to eastbound SH 71 towards the Airport will be closed. Detour to westbound SH 71 and U-turn at Riverside Drive.

RAMP CLOSURE — 4/16/21 to 4/18/21 — PAVING
Friday-Saturday (4/16-4/17) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., US 183 northbound exit to MLK will be closed at Marcel Gres, Exit to Techni Center, and on-ramp at Central Ave. will be closed, use on-ramp north of MLK to access tolled lanes.

ROAD CLOSURE — 4/18/21 to 4/20/21 — PAVING
Sunday (4/18) 6 p.m. to 6 a.m., Monday (4/19) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., Gardner Rd. will be closed at US 183 and access to Airport Blvd. and US 183 north via Levander Loop will be closed. Detour via US 183 south to U-turn at Montopolis Dr.

LANE CLOSURE — 4/19/21 to 4/23/21 — GUARDRAIL WORK
Monday-Friday (4/19-4/23) 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., US 183 in both directions frontage road right lane will be closed from Manor Springdale to Loyola.

Monday-Friday (4/19-4/23) 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., US 183 southbound right frontage lane will be closed from MLK to Hudson St.

Wednesday-Friday (4/21-23) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., US 183 northbound on-ramp will be closed at Purple Sage. Detour through the signalized intersection at Manor/Springdale Rd.

Wednesday (4/21) 8 p.m. to 12 a.m., US 183 northbound exit-ramp will be closed at Smith Rd. Exit early at Thompson to access Techni Center.
