Austin — Short and long-term lane, road closures, and detours that may impact drivers along US 183 and adjacent roadways in east Austin.
Below is an overview of the 183 South project’s lane, road, and ramp closures. Work continues along US 183, including bridge construction, roadway installation, sound wall work, utility work.
The Central Texas Regional Mobility Authority is an independent government agency created in 2002 to improve the transportation system in Williamson and Travis counties.
The Mobility Authority is overseen by a seven-member Board of Directors. The Governor appoints the Chairman, and the Travis and Williamson counties Commissioners Courts each appoint three members to serve on the Board.

Short Term
Monday-Friday (8/16-8/20) 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., US 183 southbound right frontage lane will be closed from US 290 to Manor Springdale Rd.
Monday-Friday (8/16-8/20) 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., south to north U-turn at Patton Ave. will be closed.
Monday (8/16) at 9 a.m. until Friday (8/20) at 3 p.m., US 183 northbound on-ramp will be closed at Central Ave. Traffic to access main lanes via on-ramp at MLK Blvd. bypass.
Monday-Wednesday (8/16-8/18) 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., north to south U-turn at Manor Springdale Rd. will be closed.
Monday-Friday (8/16-8/20) 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., US 183 in both directions right frontage lane will be closed from Patton Ave. to Montopolis Dr.
Monday-Friday (8/16-8/20) 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., US 183 in both directions the right frontage lane will be closed from Interchange Blvd. to Techni Center Dr.
Monday-Friday (8/16-8/20) 8:00 p.m. to 6 a.m., Mobile Ops: US 183 in both directions one frontage lane will be closed from US 290 to SH 71.
Monday (8/16) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., Friday (8/20) at 8 p.m. to Sunday (8/22) at 6 p.m., Eastbound MLK Blvd. right lane will be closed at US 183 and left frontage lane will be closed at MLK Blvd.
Monday (8/16) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., US 183 southbound general purpose will be reduced to one lane from Montopolis to Vargas Rd.
Monday (8/16) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., US 183 northbound main lane will be reduced to one lane from E. Riverside Dr. to SH71.
Monday-Friday (8/16-8/20) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., Mobile Ops: US 183 main lane in both directions one lane will be closed from US 290 to SH 71.
Tuesday-Thursday (9/17-19) 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., the southbound US 183 exit ramp to eastbound SH 71 towards the airport the left lane will be closed at SH 71.
Tuesday-Thursday (8/17-8/19) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., US 183 south general purpose ramp to Montopolis Dr. will be reduced to one lane from Interchange Blvd. to Montopolis Dr.
Wednesday-Friday (8/18-8/20) 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., North and South Bypass at MLK Blvd. the right lane will be closed.
