183 South scheduled road construction, closures, detours for week of December 13

Austin — Short and long-term lane, road closures, and detours that may impact drivers along US 183 and adjacent roadways in Austin.

Below is an overview of the 183 South project’s lane, road, and ramp closures. Work continues along US 183, including bridge construction, roadway installation, sound wall work, utility work.

The Central Texas Regional Mobility Authority is an independent government agency created in 2002 to improve the transportation system in Williamson and Travis counties.

The Mobility Authority is overseen by a seven-member Board of Directors. The Governor appoints the Chairman, and the Travis and Williamson counties Commissioners Courts each appoint three members to serve on the Board.

SHORT TERM

RAMP CLOSURE — 12/9/21 to 12/13/21 — PAVING
Thursday (12/9) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., Sunday (12/12) 6 p.m. to 6 a.m., northbound US 183 exit ramp to eastbound SH 71 towards the Austin Airport will be closed. Detour westbound SH 71 exit Riverside Dr, then U-turn to access eastbound SH 71.

RAMP CLOSURE — 12/12/21 to 12/14/21 — PAVING
Sunday (12/12) 6 p.m. to 6 a.m., Monday (12/13) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., the westbound SH 71 to southbound US 183 cloverleaf will be closed, detour E. Riverside Dr. U-turn to US 183 southbound.

LANE CLOSURE — 12/12/21 to 12/18/21 — PAVING
Sunday (12/12) 6 p.m. to 6 a.m., Monday-Friday (12/13-17) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., SH 71 will be reduced to one lane in both directions between Brandt Dr. and E. Riverside Dr.

LANE CLOSURE — 12/12/21 to 12/18/21 — PAVING
Sunday (12/12) 6 p.m. to 6 a.m., Monday-Friday (12/13-17) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., the southbound US 183 to eastbound SH 71 connector will be reduced to one lane at US 183.

LANE CLOSURE — 12/13/21 to 12/13/21 — GUARDRAIL WORK
Monday (10/13) 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., southbound US 183 left general-purpose lane will be closed at Thurgood Ave.

RAMP CLOSURE — 12/14/21 to 12/16/21 — PAVING
Tuesday-Wednesday (12/14-12/15) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., eastbound SH 71 general-purpose on-ramp to eastbound SH 71 mainlanes will be closed at US 183. Detour via southbound US 183 ramp to Metropolis Dr. U-turn to eastbound SH 71 exit.

RAMP CLOSURE — 12/14/21 to 12/15/21 — BRIDGE CONSTRUCTION
Tuesday (12/14) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., the southbound US 183 to eastbound SH 71 direct connector will be closed at US 183. Detour via E. Riverside Dr. U-turn.

LANE CLOSURE — 12/14/21 to 12/16/21 — BRIDGE CONSTRUCTION
Tuesday-Wednesday (12/14-12/15) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., southbound US 183 mainlane will be reduced to one lane at SH 71.

RAMP CLOSURE — 12/14/21 to 12/15/21 — BRIDGE CONSTRUCTION
Tuesday (12/14) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., the southbound US 183 to eastbound SH 71 direct connector will be closed at US 183. Detour via E. Riverside Dr. U-turn.

RAMP CLOSURE — 12/15/21 to 12/17/21 — PAVING
Wednesday-Thursday (12/15-12/16) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., the northbound US 183 to westbound SH 71 cloverleaf will be closed at US 183. Detour Spirit of Texas U-turn.

LANE CLOSURE — 12/16/21 to 12/17/21 — UTILITY WORK
Thursday (12/16) 7:30 p.m. to 6 a.m., Flagging operations at the intersection of Montopolis Dr. and US 183 general purpose lanes for signal work.

RAMP  CLOSURE — 12/16/21 to 12/18/21 — PAVING
Thursday-Friday (12/16-12/17) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. eastbound SH 71 to northbound US 183 cloverleaf will be closed at US 183. Detour via Spirit of Texas U-turn.
