Austin — Short and long term lane, road closures, and detours that may impact drivers along US 183 and adjacent roadways in east Austin.

Below is an overview of the 183 South project’s lane, road, and ramp closures. Work continues along US 183, including bridge construction, roadway installation, sound wall work, utility work.

The Central Texas Regional Mobility Authority is an independent government agency created in 2002 to improve the transportation system in Williamson and Travis counties.

The Mobility Authority is overseen by a seven-member Board of Directors. The Governor appoints the Chairman, and the Travis and Williamson counties Commissioners Courts each appoint three members to serve on the Board.

PLEASE NOTE THAT ALL CLOSURES ARE WEATHER PERMITTING AND SUBJECT TO CHANGE

Austin, Texas — Beginning as early as the evening of Sunday, November 22, 2020*, and lasting approximately five months, the southbound US 183 non-tolled general-purpose lanes between Manor Road and Loyola Lane will be reduced to one lane. The closure is necessary to make concrete pavement repairs in the area.

To minimize the inconvenience to drivers during the closure, the Central Texas Regional Mobility Authority will be temporarily allowing southbound US 183 drivers to enter the 183 Toll Road at Manor Road and to use the MLK Blvd/FM 969 exit without paying a toll.

Normal tolls will be charged to drivers who continue south on the 183 Toll Road past the exit signed for MLK Blvd/FM 969.

Monday-Friday (12/7-11) 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., US 183 southbound left mainlane will be closed from Patton Ave to SH 71.

• LANE CLOSURE — 12/07/20 to 12/09/20 — DRAINAGE WORK
Monday-Wednesday (12/7-9) 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., US 183 southbound left general-purpose lane will be closed from Loyola to 51st.

• RAMP CLOSURE — 12/07/20 to 12/08/20 — PAVING
Monday (12/7) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., US 183 northbound exit ramp at Thompson Lane will be closed. Montopolis traffic detour via Airport Blvd. exit, U-turn at Levander Loop to southbound Airport Blvd ramp to US 183. US 183 northbound general-purpose at Thompson will be closed. Detour via eastbound Thompson to Hergotz to US 183 northbound general-purpose.

• RAMP CLOSURE — 12/07/20 to 12/09/20 — DRAINAGE WORK
Monday-Tuesday (12/7-8) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., US 183 exit ramp at Loyola will be closed. Detour US 183 southbound mainlane to general-purpose lane to signalized intersection to access Loyola.

• LANE CLOSURE — 12/08/20 to 12/13/20 — DRAINAGE WORK
Tuesday-Saturday (12/8-12) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., US 183 southbound by-pass will be closed at MLK Blvd. Detour through signalized intersection at MLK Blvd.

• ROAD CLOSURE — 12/08/20 to 12/11/20 — BRIDGE CONSTRUCTION
Tuesday-Thursday (12/8-10) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., Eastbound SH71 to US 183 northbound and US 183 northbound at SH 71 will be closed. Detour via Spirit of Texas Dr. US 183 southbound will be closed at SH 71, Detour E. Riverside Dr. U-turn.

Tuesday-Saturday (12/8-12) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., US 183 southbound right general-purpose lane will be closed from MLK Blvd. to Techni Center

• RAMP CLOSURE — 12/08/20 to 12/10/20 — DRAINAGE WORK
Tuesday-Wednesday (12/8-9) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., US 183 northbound mainlane exit ramp at Loyola will be closed. Detour via exit ramp to MLK Blvd. by-pass to access Purple Sage/Springdale Manor Rd.
