Austin — Short and long term lane, road closures, and detours that may impact drivers along US 183 and adjacent roadways in east Austin.

Below is an overview of the 183 South project’s lane, road, and ramp closures. Work continues along US 183, including bridge construction, roadway installation, sound wall work, utility work.

The Central Texas Regional Mobility Authority is an independent government agency created in 2002 to improve the transportation system in Williamson and Travis counties.

The Mobility Authority is overseen by a seven-member Board of Directors. The Governor appoints the Chairman, and the Travis and Williamson counties Commissioners Courts each appoint three members to serve on the Board.

Austin, Texas — Beginning as early as the evening of Sunday, November 22, 2020*, and lasting approximately five months, the southbound US 183 non-tolled general-purpose lanes between Manor Road and Loyola Lane will be reduced to one lane. The closure is necessary to make concrete pavement repairs in the area.

To minimize the inconvenience to drivers during the closure, the Central Texas Regional Mobility Authority will be temporarily allowing southbound US 183 drivers to enter the 183 Toll Road at Manor Road and to use the MLK Blvd/FM 969 exit without paying a toll.

Normal tolls will be charged to drivers who continue south on the 183 Toll Road past the exit signed for MLK Blvd/FM 969.

Monday-Friday (2/8-12) 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Manor Springdale Rd. U-turn in both directions will be closed.

Monday-Saturday (2/8-13) 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., US 183 right general-purpose lane in both directions will be closed Manor Rd. to US 290

Monday-Tuesday (2/8-9) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., Eastbound Cesar Chavez to southbound SH 183 will be closed. Detour via Shady to Levander Loop to Airport Blvd. to 183.

Monday-Tuesday (2/8-9) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., Eastbound 7th St. to US 183 southbound will be closed. Detour via Shady to Levander Loop to Airport Blvd. to 183.

Tuesday-Thursday (2/9-11) 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Boggy Creek Bridge U-turn in both directions will be closed. Not to be closed simultaneously.

Tuesday-Wednesday (2/9-10) 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., US 183 southbound right general-purpose lane will be closed from Thurgood Ave. to Eastgate Rd.

Tuesday-Wednesday (2/9-10) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., southbound Airport Blvd. ramp to US 183 southbound will be closed. Detour via Levander Loop to 7th Street.

Tuesday-Wednesday (2/9-10) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., Montopolis Dr. eastbound left lane at US 183 and US 183 southbound left turn lane at Montopolis Dr. will be closed.

Tuesday (2/9) 9 p.m. to 12 a.m., US 183 northbound toll exit ramp at MLK Blvd. will be closed. Traffic to use tolled exit at Smith Road to access northbound general-purpose and MLK Blvd.

• RAMP CLOSURE — 02/09/21 to 02/10/21 — UTILITY WORK
Tuesday (2/9) 10 p.m. to 1 a.m., US 183 northbound on-ramp at Loyola will be closed. Traffic to use general-purpose lanes through signalized intersection at Loyola to on-ramp.

• RAMP CLOSURE — 02/10/21 to 02/12/21 — GUARDRAIL WORK
Wednesday-Thursday (2/10-11) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., US 183 southbound to SH 71 eastbound direct connect will be closed. Detour via E. Riverside Dr. U-turn.

• RAMP CLOSURE — 02/10/21 to 02/12/21 — GUARDRAIL WORK
Wednesday-Thursday (2/10-11) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., US 183 northbound toll on-ramp at Bolm will be closed. Traffic to detour via US 183 general-purpose lanes to on-ramp at Central and/or continue on general-purpose lanes.

Thursday (2/11) 9 p.m. to 2 a.m., 183 Toll southbound will be reduced to one lane from 51st to MLK Blvd.

• RAMP CLOSURE — 02/12/21 to 02/14/21 — GUARDRAIL WORK
Friday (2/12) 8 p.m. until Sunday (2/14) 3 p.m., SH 71 westbound exit ramp to E. Riverside Dr. will be closed. Detour Montopolis Dr. U-turn to eastbound SH 71 general-purpose.
