Austin — Short and long term lane, road closures, and detours that may impact drivers along US 183 and adjacent roadways in east Austin.

Below is an overview of the 183 South project’s lane, road, and ramp closures. Work continues along US 183, including bridge construction, roadway installation, sound wall work, utility work.

The Central Texas Regional Mobility Authority is an independent government agency created in 2002 to improve the transportation system in Williamson and Travis counties.

The Mobility Authority is overseen by a seven-member Board of Directors. The Governor appoints the Chairman, and the Travis and Williamson counties Commissioners Courts each appoint three members to serve on the Board.

PLEASE NOTE THAT ALL CLOSURES ARE WEATHER PERMITTING AND SUBJECT TO CHANGE

Austin, Texas — Beginning as early as the evening of Sunday, November 22, 2020*, and lasting approximately five months, the southbound US 183 non-tolled general-purpose lanes between Manor Road and Loyola Lane will be reduced to one lane. The closure is necessary to make concrete pavement repairs in the area.

To minimize the inconvenience to drivers during the closure, the Central Texas Regional Mobility Authority will be temporarily allowing southbound US 183 drivers to enter the 183 Toll Road at Manor Road and to use the MLK Blvd/FM 969 exit without paying a toll.

Normal tolls will be charged to drivers who continue south on the 183 Toll Road past the exit signed for MLK Blvd/FM 969.

Monday (1/11) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., Wed-Thur (1/13-14) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., Eastbound SH71 cloverleaf to US 183 northbound and US 183 northbound at SH 71 will be closed. Detour via Spirit of Texas Dr. U-turn.

Monday-Wednesday (1/11-13) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., US 183 southbound general-purpose will be closed at Bolm Rd. Detour via Bolm to Gardner to US 183

• ROAD CLOSURE — 01/11/21 to 01/14/21 — PEDESTRIAN BRIDGE CONSTRUCTION
Monday-Wednesday (1/11-13) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., US 183 northbound general-purpose lanes will be closed at Bolm Rd. Detour via on-ramp at Bolm to exit ramp at Smith Rd.

Tuesday (1/12) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., SH 71 westbound direct connector to US 183 northbound will be closed. Detour Old Bastrop Hwy.

Wednesday-Saturday (1/13-16) 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., US 183 northbound general-purpose will be reduced to one lane from Thompson to Alleyton Dr.

Wednesday-Saturday (1/13-16) 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., US 183 northbound mainlanes will be reduced to one lane from SH 71 to Alleyton Dr.

• ROAD CLOSURE — 01/13/21 to 01/14/21 — PAVING
Wednesday (1/13) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., US 183 southbound entry ramps to Loyola Lane and southbound general-purpose lanes between Springdale/Manor Rd. and Loyola Lane closed. Detour to MLK exit and utilize the U-turn to access Loyola Lane.

• ROAD CLOSURE — 01/13/21 to 01/16/21 — PEDESTRIAN BRIDGE CONSTRUCTION
Wednesday-Friday (12/13-18) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., US 183 southbound mainlanes at Hudson St. and the northbound on-ramp at Smith Rd. will be closed. Detour via US 183 general-purpose to on-ramp at Interchange Blvd.

• LANE CLOSURE — 01/14/21 to 01/15/21 — ROADWAY STRIPING
Thursday-Friday (1/14-15) 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., US 183 northbound toll exit ramp at Smith Rd. will be reduced to one lane.

• RAMP CLOSURE — 01/14/21 to 01/15/21 — ROADWAY STRIPING
Thursday-Friday (1/14-15) 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., US 183 northbound toll on-ramp at Bolm Rd. will be closed. Traffic continue on general-purpose to access toll lanes via on-ramp at Central Ave.

• ROAD CLOSURE — 01/14/21 to 01/16/21 — SIGN INSTALLATION
Thursday-Friday (1/14-15) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., US 183 northbound mainlane at Thompson and the northbound Toll on-ramp at Bolm will be closed. Tolled/Non-Tolled traffic to detour via Thompson general-purpose lanes to on-ramp at Central and/or continue on general-purpose lanes.

• RAMP CLOSURE — 01/14/21 to 01/15/21 — PAVING
Thursday (1/14) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., US 183 southbound on-ramp at Montopolis Dr. will be closed. Detour via general-purpose lanes through signalized intersection at Montopolis Dr.
