183 South scheduled road construction, closures, detours for week of July 5

Austin — Short and long-term lane, road closures, and detours that may impact drivers along US 183 and adjacent roadways in east Austin.

Below is an overview of the 183 South project’s lane, road, and ramp closures. Work continues along US 183, including bridge construction, roadway installation, sound wall work, utility work.

The Central Texas Regional Mobility Authority is an independent government agency created in 2002 to improve the transportation system in Williamson and Travis counties.

The Mobility Authority is overseen by a seven-member Board of Directors. The Governor appoints the Chairman, and the Travis and Williamson counties Commissioners Courts each appoint three members to serve on the Board.

LANE CLOSURE — 7/6/21 to 7/9/21 — GUARDRAIL WORK
Tuesday-Friday (7/6-7/9) 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., US 183 in both directions the right frontage lane will be closed from Montopolis to Harold Ct.

LANE CLOSURE — 7/6/21 to 7/9/21 — BRIDGE CONSTRUCTION
Tuesday-Thursday (7/6-7/8) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., US 183 northbound mainlane will be reduced to one lane from Techni Center to MLK Blvd.

LANE CLOSURE — 7/6/21 to 7/8/21 — BRIDGE CONSTRUCTION
Tuesday-Wednesday (7/6-7/7) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., Westbound SH 71 to northbound US 183 will be closed at US 183. Detour via E. Riverside Dr. U-turn to northbound US 183 cloverleaf.

Tuesday-Thursday (7/6-7/8) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., Southbound US 183 bypass of MLK Blvd will be closed.

RAMP CLOSURE — 7/6/21 to 7/10/21 — GUARDRAIL WORK
Tuesday-Thursday (7/6-7/8) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., Friday (7/9) 8 p.m. to 8 a.m., Southbound US 183 to eastbound SH 71 will be closed at US 183. Detour via E. Riverside Dr. U-turn.

RAMP CLOSURE — 7/6/21 to 7/9/21 — GUARDRAIL WORK
Tuesday-Thursday (7/6-7/8) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., US 183 northbound frontage road will be reduced to one lane from Manor Springdale to US 290 and exit ramp to US 290 will be closed. Detour via Cameron Rd.

LANE CLOSURE — 7/6/21 to 7/8/21 — GUARDRAIL WORK
Tuesday-Wednesday (7/6-7/7) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., US 183 southbound frontage road will be reduced to one lane from Montopolis to Patton and north to south U-turn will be closed at Montopolis.

RAMP CLOSURE — 7/6/21 to 7/8/21 — PAVING
Tuesday-Wednesday (7/6-7/7) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., US 183 south: ramp to Montopolis will be closed at Gardner Rd. detour Levander Loop to Airport Blvd. to US 183, the exit to Airport/Levander Loop will be closed at Bolm Rd., detour Montopolis U-turn, two lanes will be closed from Bolm to Gardner.

Tuesday-Wednesday (7/6-7/7) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., Westbound SH 71 to northbound US 183 will be closed at US 183. Detour via E. Riverside Dr. U-turn to northbound US 183 cloverleaf.

Tuesday-Friday (7/6-7/9) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., US 183 in both directions the main lane will be reduced to one lane from Garner to Hudson.

LANE CLOSURE — 7/7/21 to 7/7/21 — GUARDRAIL WORK
Wednesday (7/7) 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Eastbound SH 71 right main lane will be closed from US 183 to Brandt Dr.

LANE CLOSURE — 7/7/21 to 7/8/21 — PAVING
Wednesday-Thursday (7/7-7/8) 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., US 183 northbound exit to MLK left lane will be closed at Tracor Lane.

RAMP CLOSURE — 7/7/21 to 7/8/21 — GUARDRAIL WORK
Wednesday (7/7) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., US 183 southbound general-purpose on-ramp at MLK Blvd. will be closed and the left frontage lane will be closed from 51st to MLK Blvd.

RAMP CLOSURE — 6/28/21 to 6/29/21 — GUARDRAIL WORK
Wednesday (7/7) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., US 183 northbound exit to Airport Blvd. will be closed at Montopolis Dr. and frontage road will be reduced to one lane from Montopolis to Gardner.

LANE CLOSURE — 7/7/21 to 7/9/21 — ROADWAY STRIPING
Wednesday-Thursday (7/7-7/8) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m, Friday (7/9) 8 p.m. to 8 a.m., SH 71 main lane in both directions will be reduced to one lane from E. Riverside Dr. to Brandt.

RAMP CLOSURE — 7/7/21 to 7/9/21 — PAVING
Wednesday-Thursday (7/7-7/8) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., US 183 northbound mainlane will be closed at SH 71 and Eastbound SH 71 to northbound US 183 cloverleaf will be closed at US 183. Detour Spirit of Texas U-turn.

ROAD CLOSURE — 7/7/21 to 7/9/21 — PAVING
Wednesday-Thursday (7/7-7/8) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., US 183 southbound frontage road two lanes will be closed from Bolm to Gardner Rd., Interchange Blvd. will be closed at US 183 detour Gardner to Levander Loop to Airport Blvd. to south US 183, and Levander Loop will be closed at Gardener Rd., detour Montopolis Dr. U-turn.

Thursday-Friday (7/8-7/9), Monday (7/12) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., Southbound US 183 bypass of MLK Blvd will be closed.

Saturday (7/10) 4 a.m. to 3 p.m., Eastbound SH 71 left frontage lane will be closed from E. Riverside Dr. to US 183.

Tuesday (5/18) at 9 a.m. until Monday (6/21) at 3 p.m., US 183 northbound frontage road will be reduced to one lane from Manor Springdale to US 290.

DETOUR — 5/24/21 to 7/31/21 — BRIDGE CONSTRUCTION
U-turns north of Boggy Creek closed for barrier repairs. Detour to U-turns at MLK and Levander Loop.
