Austin — Short and long-term lane, road closures, and detours that may impact drivers along US 183 and adjacent roadways in east Austin.
Below is an overview of the 183 South project’s lane, road, and ramp closures. Work continues along US 183, including bridge construction, roadway installation, sound wall work, utility work.
The Central Texas Regional Mobility Authority is an independent government agency created in 2002 to improve the transportation system in Williamson and Travis counties.
The Mobility Authority is overseen by a seven-member Board of Directors. The Governor appoints the Chairman, and the Travis and Williamson counties Commissioners Courts each appoint three members to serve on the Board.

Short Term
Friday (6/4) 8 p.m. to 8 a.m., Saturday (6/5) 6 p.m. to 8 a.m., Thompson Ln. will be closed at US 183 and the north frontage road will be reduced to one lane at Thompson. Detour via Old Bastrop Hwy and Dalton Lane.
Friday-Saturday (6/4-6/5) 8 p.m. to 5 a.m., US 183 northbound general purpose will be closed at Techni Center Dr. Detour via on-ramp at Central Ave. through MLK Blvd. by-pass.
Thursday (6/3) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., Friday (6/4) 8 p.m. to 8 a.m., Saturday (6/5) 6 p.m. to 6 a.m., US 183 northbound mainlane will be closed at SH 71 and Eastbound SH 71 to northbound US 183 cloverleaf will be closed at US 183. Detour Spirit of Texas U-turn.
Friday (6/4) 8 p.m. to 10 a.m., Saturday (6/5) 6 p.m. to 10 a.m., Eastbound SH 71 mainlane will be reduced to one lane from US 183 to Brandt Drive.
Friday (6/4) 8 p.m. to 7 a.m., Saturday (6/5) 6 p.m. to 7 a.m., the southbound US 183 exit ramp to eastbound SH 71 towards Austin Airport will be closed. Detour to westbound SH 71 and U-turn at Riverside Drive.
Saturday (6/5) 7 a.m. to 10 a.m., Sunday (6/6) 7 a.m. to 10 a.m., the southbound US 183 exit ramp to eastbound SH 71 towards Austin Airport will be reduced to one lane.
Saturday (6/5) 6 p.m. to 6 a.m., US 183 northbound mainlane will be reduced to one lane from Bolm to MLK Blvd.
Sunday (6/6) 6 p.m. to 6 a.m., Monday (6/7) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., Southbound Airport Blvd. will be closed at US 183. Detour via Shady Ln. to 7th St. Detour via Levander Loop to Shady Ln. to Cesar Chavez to southbound US 183.
Sunday (6/6) 6 p.m. to 6 a.m., Monday (6/7) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., Eastbound 7th St. ramp to US 183 will be closed. Detour via Levander Loop to Shady Ln. to Cesar Chavez to southbound US 183.
Sunday (6/6) 6 p.m. to 6 a.m., Monday (6/7) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., Eastbound Cesar Chavez/1st St. will be closed at US 183. Detour via Shady Ln. to 7th Street.
Monday-Wednesday (6/7-6/9) 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., US 183 northbound right mainlane will be closed from MLK Blvd. to Loyola.
Monday-Friday (6/7-6/11) 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., US 183 frontage road right lane in both directions will be closed from MLK Blvd. to Manor Road.
Monday-Friday (6/7-6/11) 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., US 183 southbound right mainlane will be closed from SH 71 to E. Riverside Drive.
Monday-Friday (6/7-6/11) 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., US 183 southbound left frontage lane will be closed from Montopolis to Patton Avenue.
Monday-Tuesday (6/7-6/8) 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., US 183 northbound by-pass at MLK Blvd. the right lane will be closed.
Monday-Tuesday (6/7-6/8) 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., US 183 northbound right mainlane will be closed at Montopolis Drive.
Monday-Friday (6/7-6/11) 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., US 183 southbound right turn lane at Manor Springdale Rd. will be closed.
Monday-Wednesday (6/7-6/9) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., US 183 southbound frontage road will be reduced to one lane from US 290 to Loyola.
Monday (6/7) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., Thompson Ln. will be closed at US 183 and the north frontage road will be reduced to one lane at Thompson. Detour via Old Bastrop Hwy and Dalton Lane.

WED (6/9) 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., US 183 right frontage lane in both directions will be closed from Thurgood Ave. to MLK Blvd.
Wednesday-Friday (6/9-6/11) 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., US 183 northbound right mainlane will be closed from Loyola to Manor Road.
Wednesday-Friday (6/9-6/11) 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., North to South U-turn at Manor Springdale Rd. will be closed.
Thursday-Friday (6/10-11) 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., US 183 right frontage lane in both directions will be closed from Bolm to Thurgood Avenue.

Tuesday (5/18) at 9 a.m. until Monday (6/21) at 3 p.m., US 183 northbound frontage road will be reduced to one lane from Manor Springdale to US 290.
