183 South scheduled road construction, closures, detours for week of March 8

Austin — Short and long-term lane, road closures, and detours that may impact drivers along US 183 and adjacent roadways in east Austin.

Below is an overview of the 183 South project’s lane, road, and ramp closures. Work continues along US 183, including bridge construction, roadway installation, sound wall work, utility work.

The Central Texas Regional Mobility Authority is an independent government agency created in 2002 to improve the transportation system in Williamson and Travis counties.

The Mobility Authority is overseen by a seven-member Board of Directors. The Governor appoints the Chairman, and the Travis and Williamson counties Commissioners Courts each appoint three members to serve on the Board.

• LANE CLOSURE — 3/5/21 to 3/7/21 — PAVING
Friday (3/5) 8 p.m. until Sunday (3/7) 3 p.m., US 183 northbound left bypass lane at MLK Blvd.

• LANE CLOSURE — 3/5/21 to 3/7/21 — ROADWAY STRIPING
Friday (3/5) 8 p.m. until Sunday (3/7) 3 p.m., US 183 southbound bypass closed at MLK Blvd. Traffic to travel through signalized intersection at MLK Blvd.

• LANE CLOSURE — 3/6/21 to 3/8/21 — GUARDRAIL WORK
Saturday-Sunday (3/6-3/7) 6 p.m. to 6 a.m., the southbound US 183 ramp to eastbound SH 71 will be closed.

• LANE CLOSURE — 3/8/21 to 3/26/21 — GUARDRAIL WORK
Monday (3/8) 6 a.m. until Friday (3/26) 3 p.m., US 183 northbound left mainlane will be closed from MLK Blvd. to Manor Rd.

• RAMP CLOSURE — 3/8/21 to 3/12/21 — PEDESTRIAN BRIDGE CONSTRUCTION
Monday-Friday (3/8-3/12) 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., US 183 northbound right general-purpose will be closed Interchange Blvd. to Bolm Rd.

• RAMP CLOSURE — 3/8/21 to 3/13/21 — GUARDRAIL WORK
Monday-Saturday (3/8-3/13) 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., US 183 general-purpose right lane in both directions will be closed from US 290 to Manor Rd.

• LANE CLOSURE — 3/8/21 to 3/12/21 — BRIDGE CONSTRUCTION
Monday-Friday (3/8-3/12) 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., US 183 southbound right mainlane will be closed from Purple Sage to 51st St.

• RAMP CLOSURE — 3/8/21 to 3/12/21 — PAVING
Monday-Thursday (3/8-3/11) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., the westbound US 290 direct connector to southbound US 183 will be closed. Detour to the Berkman Exit and use the next U-turn to access SB US 183.

• LANE CLOSURE — 03/8/21 to 3/12/21 — PAVING
Monday-Thursday (3/8-3/11) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., southbound US 183 mainlanes will be reduced to one lane between US 290 and Manor/Springdale Road.
