183 South scheduled road construction, closures, detours for week of May 17

Austin — Short and long-term lane, road closures, and detours that may impact drivers along US 183 and adjacent roadways in east Austin.

Below is an overview of the 183 South project’s lane, road, and ramp closures. Work continues along US 183, including bridge construction, roadway installation, sound wall work, utility work.

The Central Texas Regional Mobility Authority is an independent government agency created in 2002 to improve the transportation system in Williamson and Travis counties.

The Mobility Authority is overseen by a seven-member Board of Directors. The Governor appoints the Chairman, and the Travis and Williamson counties Commissioners Courts each appoint three members to serve on the Board.

RAMP CLOSURE — 5/16/21 to 5/17/21 — PAVING
Sunday (5/16) 6 p.m. to 6 a.m., Monday (5/17) 8 p.m. to 6 p.m., Eastbound SH 71 to northbound US 183 cloverleaf will be closed at SH 71. Detour via Spirit of Texas Dr.

RAMP CLOSURE — 5/16/21 to 5/18/21 — GUARDRAIL WORK
Sunday (5/16) & Tuesday (5/18) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., US 183 northbound mainlane and east SH 71 to north US 183 cloverleaf will be closed at SH 71. Detour via Spirit of Texas Dr.

LANE CLOSURE — 5/9/21 to 5/11/21 — GUARDRAIL WORK
Sunday (5/16) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., Eastbound SH 71 two right mainlanes will be closed from US 183 to Brandt Dr.

LANE CLOSURE — 5/17/21 to 5/21/21 — GUARDRAIL WORK
Monday-Friday (5/17-5/21) 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Eastbound Loyola right lane will be closed at US 183.

LANE CLOSURE — 5/10/21 to 5/14/21 — GUARDRAIL WORK
Monday-Friday (5/17-5/21) 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., US 183 left lane in both directions will be closed at Montopolis.

LANE CLOSURE — 5/17/21 to 5/21/21 — GUARDRAIL WORK
Monday-Friday (5/17-5/21) 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., US 183 right lane in both directions will be closed from 51st to Manor Springdale.

LANE CLOSURE — 5/17/21 to 5/17/21 —  LANDSCAPING
Monday (5/17) 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., US 183 northbound left mainlane will be closed at Montopolis Dr.

LANE CLOSURE — 5/17/21 to 5/19/21 — SIGN INSTALLATION
Monday-Wednesday (5/17-5/19) 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., US 183 southbound right mainlane will be closed from Montopolis to Patton.

RAMP CLOSURE — 5/17/21 to 5/18/21 — PAVING
Monday-Tuesday (5/17-5/18) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., Westbound SH 71 to northbound US183 will be closed at SH 71 Detour via E. Riverside Dr. U-turn to southbound US 183.

ROAD CLOSURE — 5/17/21 to 5/18/21 — PAVING
Monday-Tuesday (5/17-5/18) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., Northbound US 183 to Westbound SH 71 to will be closed at US 183. Detour via Montopolis Dr. U-turn to south US 183 to SH 71.

RAMP CLOSURE — 5/17/21 to 5/19/21 — PAVING
Monday-Tuesday (5/17-5/18) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., Westbound SH 71 mainlane will be reduced to one lane from Brandt Dr. to US183.

LANE CLOSURE — 5/17/21 to 5/19/21 — PAVING
Monday-Tuesday (5/17-5/18) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., Northbound US 183 general-purpose lanes will be closed from Old Bastrop Hwy. to Patton Ave. To access Old Bastrop Highway from US 183, use southbound US 183, exit to eastbound SH 71, U-turn at Spirit of Texas Highway. Old Bastrop Highway will be on the right. Use Patton Avenue to access Jet Lane.

LANE CLOSURE — 5/18/21 to 6/1/21 — GUARDRAIL WORK
Tuesday (5/18) at 9 a.m. until Tuesday (6/1) at 3 p.m., US 183 northbound frontage road will be reduced to one lane from Manor Springdale to US 290.
