Austin — Short and long-term lane, road closures, and detours that may impact drivers along US 183 and adjacent roadways in east Austin.
Below is an overview of the 183 South project’s lane, road, and ramp closures. Work continues along US 183, including bridge construction, roadway installation, sound wall work, utility work.
The Central Texas Regional Mobility Authority is an independent government agency created in 2002 to improve the transportation system in Williamson and Travis counties.
The Mobility Authority is overseen by a seven-member Board of Directors. The Governor appoints the Chairman, and the Travis and Williamson counties Commissioners Courts each appoint three members to serve on the Board.

Short Term
Tuesday (5/18) at 9 a.m. until Tuesday (6/1) at 3 p.m., US 183 northbound frontage road will be reduced to one lane from Manor Springdale to US 290.
Sunday (5/23) 6 p.m. to 12 a.m., Northbound US 183 general-purpose lanes will be closed from Old Bastrop Hwy. to Patton Ave. To access Old Bastrop Highway from US 183, use southbound US 183, exit to eastbound SH 71, U-turn at Spirit of Texas Highway. Old Bastrop Highway will be on the right. Use Patton Avenue to access Jet Lane.
Sunday (5/23) 9 p.m. to 6 a.m., Monday (5/24) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., Westbound SH 71 to northbound US 183 will be closed at SH 71. Detour via E. Riverside Dr. U-turn to northbound US 183 cloverleaf.
Thursday (5/24-5/27) 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., US 183 right general-purpose in both directions will be closed from 51st to Manor Springdale Rd.
Monday-Thursday (5/24-5/27) 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., US 183 southbound left general-purpose will be closed from Montopolis to Patton Ave.
Monday-Tuesday (5/24-5/25) 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Westbound 7th St. right lane will be closed at US 183.
Monday-Wednesday (5/24-5/26) 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., US 183 southbound right mainlane will be closed from Montopolis to Patton Ave.
Monday (5/24) 7 a.m. until Wednesday (5/26) at 3 p.m., South to North U-turn at Manor Springdale Rd. will be closed.
Monday-Friday (5/24-5/28) 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Eastbound Loyola Ln. the right lane will be closed at US 183.
Monday-Friday (5/24-5/28) 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., US 183 southbound right general-purpose lane will be closed from Techni Center to Bluestein Dr.
Monday-Friday (5/24-5/28) 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., US 183 southbound general-purpose right turn lane will be closed at Manor Springdale Rd.
Monday-Friday (5/24-5/28) 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Eastbound Montopolis right lane will be closed at US 183.
Monday-Thursday (5/24-5/27) 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., US 183 southbound right mainlane will be closed from SH 71 to E. Riverside Dr.
Monday-Wednesday (5/24-5/26) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., Northbound US 183 exit ramp to eastbound SH 71 towards Austin Airport will be closed. Detour westbound SH 71 exit Riverside Dr, then U-turn to access eastbound SH 71. North US 183 mainlanes reduced to one lane E. Riverside Dr. to SH 71.#atxtraffic
Monday-Wednesday (5/24-5/26) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., US 183 northbound mainlane will be closed at SH 71 and Eastbound SH 71 to northbound US 183 cloverleaf will be closed at US 183. Detour Spirit of Texas U-turn.
Monday-Wednesday (5/24-5/26) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., Eastbound SH 71 towards @AUStinAirport to northbound US 183 cloverleaf will be closed at US 183. Detour via Spirit of Texas Dr.
Monday-Wednesday (5/24-5/26) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., Eastbound SH 71 on-ramp will be closed at US 183. Detour via US 183 south to Metropolis U-turn.
Monday-Wednesday (5/24-5/26) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., Eastbound SH 71 towards Austin Airport will be reduced to one lane from E. Riverside Dr. to Brandt
Tuesday -Thursday (5/25-5/27) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., Tuesday -Thursday (6/1-6/3) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., Southbound US 183 to eastbound SH 71 will be reduced to one lane at SH 71.
Wednesday (5/26) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., US 183 northbound mainlane will be closed at SH 71, and Eastbound SH 71 to northbound US 183 cloverleaf will be closed at US 183. Detour Spirit of Texas U-turn.
Wednesday-Thursday (5/26-27) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., Thompson Ln. will be closed at US 183 and the north frontage road will be reduced to one lane at Thompson. Detour via Dalton.
Wednesday-Thursday (5/26-5/27) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., Southbound US 183 to westbound SH 71 will be closed at SH 71. Detour via E. Riverside Dr.
