Austin — Short and long-term lane, road closures, and detours that may impact drivers along US 183 and adjacent roadways in east Austin.
Below is an overview of the 183 South project’s lane, road, and ramp closures. Work continues along US 183, including bridge construction, roadway installation, sound wall work, utility work.
The Central Texas Regional Mobility Authority is an independent government agency created in 2002 to improve the transportation system in Williamson and Travis counties.
The Mobility Authority is overseen by a seven-member Board of Directors. The Governor appoints the Chairman, and the Travis and Williamson counties Commissioners Courts each appoint three members to serve on the Board.

Short Term
Sunday (5/2) 6 p.m. to 6 a.m., US 183 northbound frontage road will be reduced to one lane from MLK Blvd. to Manor Springdale Rd.
Sunday (5/2) 6 p.m. to 6 a.m., Monday (5/3) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., US 183 northbound Exit to Airport Blvd. will be closed at Montopolis Dr. Detour via 183 north frontage road to Boggy Creek U-turn to US 183 south to Airport Blvd., 5th St., 7th St. and Cesar Chavez.
Monday (5/3) 6 a.m. until Thursday (5/6) at 3 p.m. US 183 southbound on-ramp will be closed at MLK Blvd.
Monday-Wednesday (5/3-5/5) 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., US 183 right frontage lane in both directions will be closed from 51st to Manor Springdale Rd.
Monday-Wednesday (5/3-5/5) 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., US 183 southbound exit ramp to Loyola the right lane will be closed from Manor Springdale to Purple Sage.
Monday-Wednesday (5/3-5/5) 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., eastbound Manor Springdale Rd. right turn lane will be closed at US 183.
Monday-Thursday (5/3-5/6) 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., US 183 right frontage lane in both directions will be closed from 51st to Manor Springdale.
Monday-Wednesday (5/3-5/5) 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., By-pass at MLK Blvd. in both directions the right lane will be closed.
Monday-Tuesday (5/3-5/4) 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., US 183 southbound right mainlane will be closed from Patton to SH 71
Monday-Friday (5/3-5/7) 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., US 183 northbound to Airport, 7th St., and Cesar Chavez the right lane will be closed at US 183.
Monday-Wednesday (5/3-5/5) 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., US 183 southbound right mainlane will be closed from Loyola to MLK Blvd.
Monday (5/3) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., US 183 northbound on ramp will be closed at Purple Sage. Detour through signalized intersection at Manor/Springdale Rd.
Monday-Tuesday (5/3-5/4) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., Airport Blvd. southbound ramp to US 183 will be closed. Detour via 7th St. ramp to US 183 southbound.
Monday-Friday (5/3-5/7) 8 p.m. to 6 .m., 183 Toll southbound will be closed at Hudson St. Detour via frontage road to on-ramp at Montopolis Dr.
Monday-Tuesday (5/3-5/4) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., US 183 northbound mainlane will be reduced to one lane from Manor Springdale Rd. to US 290
Monday (5/3) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., US 183 northbound exit ramp to US 290 frontage road will be closed. Detour via Cameron Rd. U-turn.
Monday (5/3) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., US 183 northbound to US 290 westbound direct-connector will be closed. Detour via Cameron Rd.
Monday (5/3) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., SH 71 westbound right two mainlanes will be closed from Spirit of Texas to US 183.
Monday-Wednesday (5/3-5/5) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., US 183 southbound on-ramp will be reduced to one lane from Vargas to Patton Ave.
Tuesday (5/4) 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Loyola westbound right lane will be closed at US 183.
Tuesday-Wednesday (5/4-5/5) 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., westbound SH 71 left mainlane will be closed from US 183 to E. Riverside Dr.
Tuesday-Wednesday (5/4-5/5) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., Access to US 183 will be closed from 7th St, 1st St, and Cesar Chavez eastbound. Detour via Levander Loop to US 183 southbound.
Tuesday-Wednesday (5/4-5/5) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., US 183 northbound mainlane will be reduced to one lane from Techni Center to Loyola.
Tuesday (5/4) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., southbound US 183 to eastbound SH 71 will be reduced to one lane.
Wednesday-Friday (5/5-5/7) 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., US 183 southbound right mainlane will be closed from Hudson to Thurgood Ave.
Wednesday-Thursday (5/5-5/6) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., westbound SH 71 to US 183 northbound will be closed at SH 71. Detour via E. Riverside Dr. U-turn to US 183 north cloverleaf.
Wednesday-Thursday (5/5-5/6) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., US 183 northbound mainlane will be reduced to one lane from Loyola to US 290.
Wednesday-Thursday (5/5-5/6) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., Levander Loop will be closed at Cesar Chavez and at US 183 northbound. Detour via Shady Lane to Cesar Chavez, to southbound US 183 ramp to U-turn at Montopolis Dr.
Monday (5/10) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., northbound US 183 to eastbound SH 71 towards Austin Airport will be closed. Detour westbound SH 71 to E. Riverside Dr. U-turn to access eastbound SH 71, and north US 183 mainlanes will be reduced to one lane from E. Riverside Dr. to SH 71.
