183 South scheduled road construction, closures, detours for week of October 11

Austin — Short and long-term lane, road closures, and detours that may impact drivers along US 183 and adjacent roadways in east Austin.

Below is an overview of the 183 South project’s lane, road, and ramp closures. Work continues along US 183, including bridge construction, roadway installation, sound wall work, utility work.

The Central Texas Regional Mobility Authority is an independent government agency created in 2002 to improve the transportation system in Williamson and Travis counties.

The Mobility Authority is overseen by a seven-member Board of Directors. The Governor appoints the Chairman, and the Travis and Williamson counties Commissioners Courts each appoint three members to serve on the Board.

SHORT TERM

SHOULDER CLOSURE — 10/11/21 to 10/13/21 — SIGN INSTALLATION
Monday-Wednesday (10/11-10/13) 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Mobile Ops: shoulders on US 183 mainlanes/183 Toll between US 290 and SH 71 in both directions will be closed.

RAMP CLOSURE — 10/11/21 to 10/13/21 — HIGHWAY LIGHTING
Monday-Wednesday (10/11-10/13) 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., South to north U-turn at Loyola will be closed.

LANE CLOSURE — 10/4/21 to 10/5/21 — HIGHWAY LIGHTING
Monday-Wednesday (10/11-10/13) 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Northbound bypass at MLK Blvd. the right lane will be closed.

LANE CLOSURE — 10/11/21 to 10/15/21 — GUARDRAIL WORK
Monday-Friday (10/11-10/15) 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., US 183 in both directions the right general-purpose lane will be closed from Interchange Blvd. to Techni Center Dr.

LANE CLOSURE — 10/11/21 to 10/15/21 — GUARDRAIL WORK
Monday-Friday (10/11-10/15) 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., US 183 in both directions the right general-purpose lane will be closed from Patton Ave. to Montopolis Dr.

RAMP CLOSURE — 10/11/21 to 10/14/21 — PAVING
Monday-Wednesday (10/11-10/13) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., Northbound US 183 to westbound SH 71 cloverleaf will be closed. Detour Spirit of Texas U-turn.

RAMP CLOSURE — 10/11/21 to 10/14/21 — PAVING
Monday-Wednesday (10/11-10/13) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., Northbound US 183 to eastbound SH 71 ramp will be closed. Detour E. Riverside Dr. U-turn.

LANE CLOSURE — 10/11/21 to 10/12/21 — SIGN INSTALLATION
Monday (10/11) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., northbound US 183 the right two main lanes will be closed from Patton Ave. to Thompson

ROAD CLOSURE — 10/15/21 to 10/16/21 — PEDESTRIAN BRIDGE CONSTRUCTION
Friday (10/15) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., southbound US 183 general-purpose will be closed at Manor Springdale Rd. Detour via Manor Rd. to Loyola Lane to US 183

10/17/21 to 10/18/21 — 10/17/21 to 10/18/21 — PEDESTRIAN BRIDGE CONSTRUCTION
Sunday (10/17) 6 p.m. to 6 a.m., the southbound 183 main lanes will be reduced to one lane from US 290 to Purple Sage and the southbound exit ramp to Loyola will be closed. Detour MLK Blvd. exit then U-turn for Loyola.

ROAD CLOSURE — 10/18/21 to 10/19/21 — PEDESTRIAN BRIDGE CONSTRUCTION
Monday (10/18) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., southbound US 183 main lanes will be closed at Manor Springdale. Traffic to detour southbound general-purpose to on-ramp north of MLK Blvd.

ROAD CLOSURE — 10/19/21 to 10/20/21 — PEDESTRIAN BRIDGE CONSTRUCTION
Tuesday (10/19) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., northbound 183 tolls will be closed at Loyola. Traffic to detour on northbound general-purpose through a signalized intersection at Manor/Springdale.

ROAD CLOSURE — 10/20/21 to 10/21/21 — PEDESTRIAN BRIDGE CONSTRUCTION
Wednesday (10/20) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., northbound US 183 general-purpose will be closed at Purple Sage. Detour US 290 U-turn for Purple Sage and Manor Springdale Rd.

LONG TERM

ROAD CLOSURE — 9/17/21 to 10/31/21 — BRIDGE CONSTRUCTION
CONTINUOUS CLOSURE: Wednesday (9/1) 6 p.m. until Sunday (10/31) 6 p.m., Eastbound 7th St. will be closed at US 183. Detour to Airport Blvd. southbound entry ramp via Levander Loop.
