183 South scheduled road construction, closures, detours for week of October 18

Austin — Short and long-term lane, road closures, and detours that may impact drivers along US 183 and adjacent roadways in east Austin.

Below is an overview of the 183 South project’s lane, road, and ramp closures. Work continues along US 183, including bridge construction, roadway installation, sound wall work, utility work.

The Central Texas Regional Mobility Authority is an independent government agency created in 2002 to improve the transportation system in Williamson and Travis counties.

The Mobility Authority is overseen by a seven-member Board of Directors. The Governor appoints the Chairman, and the Travis and Williamson counties Commissioners Courts each appoint three members to serve on the Board.

SHORT TERM

ROAD CLOSURE — 10/17/21 to 10/18/21 — PEDESTRIAN BRIDGE CONSTRUCTION
Sunday (10/17) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., southbound US 183 general-purpose will be closed at Manor Springdale Rd. Detour via Manor Rd. to Loyola Lane to US 183.

SHOULDER CLOSURE — 10/18/21 to 10/21/21 — SIGN INSTALLATION
Monday-Thursday (10/18-10/21) 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Mobile Ops: shoulders on US 183 mainlanes/183 Toll between US 290 and SH 71 in both directions will be closed.

LANE  CLOSURE — 10/18/21 to 10/21/21 — GUARDRAIL WORK
Monday-Thursday (10/18-10/21) 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., US 183 in both directions the right general-purpose lane will be closed from Patton Ave. to Montopolis Dr.

LANE CLOSURE — 10/18/21 to 10/21/21 — GUARDRAIL WORK
Monday-Thursday (10/18-10/21) 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., US 183 in both directions the right general-purpose lane will be closed from Interchange Blvd. to MLK Blvd.

RAMP CLOSURE — 10/18/21 to 10/19/21 — PEDESTRIAN BRIDGE CONSTRUCTION
Monday (10/18) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., southbound 183 main lane will be reduced to one lane from US 290 to Purple Sage and the southbound exit ramp to Manor/Springdale Rd. will be closed. Detour MLK Blvd. exit then U-turn for Loyola.

RAMP CLOSURE — 10/18/21 to 10/21/21 — PAVING
Monday-Wednesday (10/18-10/20) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., the southbound US 183 to eastbound SH 71 direct connector will be closed at US 183. Detour via E. Riverside Dr. U-turn.

LANE  CLOSURE — 10/18/21 to 10/22/21 — PAVING
Monday-Thursday (10/18-10/21) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., eastbound SH71 mainlane will be reduced to one lane from E. Riverside Dr. to Brandt Dr.

LANE CLOSURE — 10/18/21 to 10/21/21 — PAVING
Monday-Wednesday (10/18-10/20) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., southbound US 183 main lane will be reduced to one lane at Patton Ave.

ROAD CLOSURE — 10/19/21 to 10/20/21 — PEDESTRIAN BRIDGE CONSTRUCTION
Tuesday (10/19) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., southbound US 183 main lanes/183 Toll will be closed at Manor Springdale Rd. Traffic to detour southbound general-purpose lanes to on-ramp north of MLK Blvd.

ROAD CLOSURE — 10/19/21 to 10/20/21 — PEDESTRIAN BRIDGE CONSTRUCTION
Tuesday (10/19) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., northbound 183 tolls will be closed at Loyola. Traffic to detour on northbound general-purpose through the signalized intersection at Manor/Springdale.

RAMP CLOSURE — 10/19/21 to 10/22/21 — PAVING
Tuesday-Thursday (10/19-10/21) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., Northbound US 183 to westbound SH 71 cloverleaf will be closed. Detour Spirit of Texas U-turn.

LANE CLOSURE — 10/19/21 to 10/21/21 — HIGHWAY LIGHTING
Tuesday-Wednesday (10/19-10/20) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., northbound US 183 the two left main lanes will be closed from Patton Ave. to Montopolis Dr.

RAMP CLOSURE — 10/20/21 to 10/22/21 — PAVING
Wednesday-Thursday (10/20-10/21) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., Northbound US 183 ramp to eastbound SH 71 will be closed. Detour E. Riverside Dr. U-turn.

ROAD CLOSURE — 10/21/21 to 10/22/21 — PEDESTRIAN BRIDGE CONSTRUCTION
Thursday (10/21) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., northbound US 183 general-purpose will be closed at Purple Sage. Detour US 290 U-turn for Purple Sage and Manor Springdale Rd.

LONG TERM

ROAD CLOSURE — 9/17/21 to 10/31/21 — BRIDGE CONSTRUCTION
CONTINUOUS CLOSURE: Wednesday (9/1) 6 p.m. until Sunday (10/31) 6 p.m., Eastbound 7th St. will be closed at US 183. Detour to Airport Blvd. southbound entry ramp via Levander Loop.
