183 South scheduled road construction, closures, detours for week of September 20

Austin — Short and long-term lane, road closures, and detours that may impact drivers along US 183 and adjacent roadways in east Austin.

Below is an overview of the 183 South project’s lane, road, and ramp closures. Work continues along US 183, including bridge construction, roadway installation, sound wall work, utility work.

The Central Texas Regional Mobility Authority is an independent government agency created in 2002 to improve the transportation system in Williamson and Travis counties.

The Mobility Authority is overseen by a seven-member Board of Directors. The Governor appoints the Chairman, and the Travis and Williamson counties Commissioners Courts each appoint three members to serve on the Board.

Short Term

ROAD CLOSURE — 9/17/21 to 10/1/21 — BRIDGE CONSTRUCTION
CONTINUOUS CLOSURE: Wednesday (9/1) 6 p.m. until Friday (10/1) 6 p.m., Eastbound 7th St. will be closed at US 183. Detour to Airport Blvd. southbound entry ramp via Levander Loop.

LANE CLOSURE — 9/18/21 to 9/20/21 — HIGHWAY LIGHTING
Saturday (9/18) 4 a.m. to 10 a.m., Monday (9/20) 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Bypass in both directions at MLK Blvd. the right lane will be closed.

LANE CLOSURE — 9/18/21 to 9/21/21 — ROADWAY STRIPING
Saturday-Tuesday (9/18-9/21) 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., Mobile Ops: US 183 southbound one main lane will be closed from US 290 to SH 71.

LANE CLOSURE — 9/18/21 to 9/21/21 — ROADWAY STRIPING
Saturday-Tuesday (9/18-9/21) 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Mobile Ops: US 183 northbound one main lane will be closed from SH 71 to US 290.

LANE CLOSURE — 9/19/21 to 9/26/21 — ROADWAY STRIPING
Sunday-Saturday (9/19-9/25) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., Mobile Ops: US 183 general-purpose in both directions one lane will be closed from US 290 to SH 71.

LANE CLOSURE — 9/19/21 to 9/23/21 — ROADWAY STRIPING
Sunday-Wednesday (9/19-9/22) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., Mobile Ops: US 183 in both directions one main lane will be closed from US 290 to SH 71.

LANE CLOSURE — 9/19/21 to 9/21/21 — HIGHWAY LIGHTING
Sunday-Monday (9/19-9/20) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., Westbound SH 71 left main lane will be closed from US 183 to E. Riverside Dr.

RAMP  CLOSURE — 9/20/21 to 9/24/21 — GUARDRAIL WORK
Monday-Friday (9/20-9/24) 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., US 183 northbound exit ramp to Montopolis Dr. the left lane will be closed at Thompson Ln.

LANE CLOSURE — 9/20/21 to 9/24/21 — GUARDRAIL WORK
Monday-Friday (9/20-9/24) 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., US 183 general-purpose right lane in both directions will be closed from Interchange to Techni Center Dr.

LANE CLOSURE — 9/20/21 to 9/22/21 — GUARDRAIL WORK
Monday-Wednesday (9/20-9/22) 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., US 183 in both directions the left main lane will be closed from Loyola to Manor Springdale.

LANE CLOSURE — 9/20/21 to 9/24/21 — GUARDRAIL WORK
Monday-Friday (9/20-9/24) 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., US 183 general-purpose right lane in both directions will be closed from Patton to Montopolis.

RAMP CLOSURE — 9/21/21 to 9/22/21 — HIGHWAY LIGHTING
Tuesday (9/21) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., Westbound SH71 Exit Ramp will be closed at E. Riverside Dr. Detour Montopolis Dr. U-turn.

LANE CLOSURE — 9/22/21 to 9/24/21 — GUARDRAIL WORK
Wednesday-Friday (9/22-9/24) 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Mobile Ops: US 183 southbound main lane the left lane will be closed from Loyola to MLK Blvd.
