183 South scheduled road construction, closures, detours for week of September 6

Austin — Short and long-term lane, road closures, and detours that may impact drivers along US 183 and adjacent roadways in east Austin.

Below is an overview of the 183 South project’s lane, road, and ramp closures. Work continues along US 183, including bridge construction, roadway installation, sound wall work, utility work.

The Central Texas Regional Mobility Authority is an independent government agency created in 2002 to improve the transportation system in Williamson and Travis counties.

The Mobility Authority is overseen by a seven-member Board of Directors. The Governor appoints the Chairman, and the Travis and Williamson counties Commissioners Courts each appoint three members to serve on the Board.

Short Term

ROAD CLOSURE — 9/1/21 to 9/10/21 — BRIDGE CONSTRUCTION
CONTINUOUS CLOSURE: Wednesday (9/1) 6 p.m. until Friday (9/10) 6 p.m., Eastbound 7th St. will be closed at US 183. Detour to Airport Blvd. southbound entry ramp via Levander Loop.

ROAD CLOSURE — 9/2/21 to 9/7/21 — HIGHWAY LIGHTING
Thursday (9/2) and Tuesday (9/7) 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., South to North U-turn at MLK Blvd. will be closed.

ROAD CLOSURE — 9/2/21 to 9/7/21 — HIGHWAY LIGHTING
Thursday (9/2) and Tuesday (9/7) 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., North to South U-turn at Montopolis will be closed.

Tuesday-Friday (9/7-9/10) 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., US 183 in both directions one main lane will be closed from E. Riverside Dr. to Patton Ave.

LANE CLOSURE — 9/7/21 to 9/10/21 — GUARDRAIL WORK
Tuesday-Friday (9/7-9/10) 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., US 183 in both directions the right general-purpose lane will be closed from Patton Ave. to Montopolis Dr.

LANE CLOSURE — 9/7/21 to 9/10/21 — GUARDRAIL WORK
Tuesday-Friday (9/7-9/10) 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., US 183 in both directions the right general-purpose lane will be closed from Interchange Blvd. to Techni Center Dr.

Tuesday-Wednesday (9/7-9/8) 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., US 183 in both directions the left main lane will be closed at Manor Springdale.

RAMP CLOSURE — 9/7/21 to 9/11/21 — EXCAVATION
Tuesday-Friday (9/7-9/10) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., the southbound US 183 exit ramp to eastbound SH 71 towards the airport will be closed at US 183. Detour via E. Riverside Dr. U-turn.

LANE CLOSURE — 9/7/21 to 9/11/21 — GUARDRAIL WORK
Tuesday-Friday (9/7-9/10) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., US 183 in both directions one general-purpose lane will be closed from Montopolis Dr. to Patton Ave.

ROAD  CLOSURE — 9/7/21 to 9/7/21 — ROADWAY STRIPING
Tuesday (9/7) 8 p.m. to 12 a.m., Gardner Rd. will be closed at US 183 and Levander Loop to Airport Blvd. will be closed at US 183. Detour to Bolm Road or Interchange Blvd. to make your connection.

Tuesday-Friday (9/7-9/10) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., Mobile Ops: US 183 general purpose lanes in both directions one lane will be closed from US 290 to SH 71.

RAMP CLOSURE — 9/7/21 to 9/11/21 — ROADWAY STRIPING
Tuesday-Friday (9/7-9/10) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., Mobile Ops: US 183 main lanes in both directions one lane will be closed from US 290 to SH 71.

LANE CLOSURE — 9/7/21 to 9/9/21 — HIGHWAY LIGHTING
Tuesday-Wednesday (9/7-9/8) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., Mobile Ops: Southbound Airport Blvd, 7th St, Cesar Chavez access to US southbound will be reduced to one lane.

ROAD CLOSURE — 9/8/21 to 9/9/21 — ROADWAY STRIPING
Wednesday (9/8) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., Levander Loop will be closed at Cesar Chavez and at US 183. Detour via Montopolis Dr. U-turn and at US 183 exit towards downtown connections.

Wednesday-Thursday (9/8-9/9) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., US 183 southbound right main lane will be closed from Smith Rd. to Bolm Rd.
