SAN MARCOS, Texas – On Friday, Texas State soccer head coach Kat Conner announced the 2021 schedule. The slate features 17 regular-season matches with six contests taking place at the Bobcat Soccer Complex.
In preparation for the regular season, the Bobcats will host UTSA in an exhibition match on Aug. 13. It will be the first time TXST has played a home exhibition match since 2014.
Texas State kicks off the regular season with six straight road matches, the longest such stretch in program history to begin a campaign, beginning Aug. 20 with a contest in San Antonio against Incarnate Word. The Bobcats then head to take on Prairie View A&M two days later.
August concludes with trips to North Texas and Stephen F. Austin.
One of the toughest non-conference matches on the schedule takes place on Thursday, Sept. 2 at Rice. The Owls are coming off a Spring season that saw them reach the third round of the NCAA Tournament. That Sunday TXST heads off to take on Abilene Christian.
The first home match for the Bobcats sees them face Texas A&M-Corpus Christi on Sept. 12. Texas State will then open Sun Belt Conference action with contests against Coastal Carolina and Georgia State on Sept. 16 and 19, respectively, at the Bobcat Soccer Complex.
Following a road swing to Alabama to take on South Alabama and Troy during the final weekend of September, the Bobcats return to San Marcos for matches against Arkansas State on Sept. 30 and Little Rock on Oct. 3.
The next three matches are on the road with trips to Appalachian State and Georgia Southern the second weekend of October and then a contest on Oct. 17 at Louisiana.
TXST concludes the regular season with Senior Night on Friday, Oct. 22 against ULM.
The Sun Belt Championship is scheduled to take place Nov. 1-7 in Foley, Alabama at the Foley Sports Complex. All 11 teams are scheduled to compete in the championship.
