You’re invited to take part in this year’s exciting and fun
20th Anniversary Birding Classic. Last year we had 100 teams competing all over the state, and our goal is to surpass that number as we celebrate this year’s 20th anniversary. You can help!
The event runs April 15 through May 15 and beginning and avid birders and naturalists are all welcome. There are many different categories to choose from based on ability, time spent in the field, or region of the state. From half day or full day to even full week tournaments, there’s something for everyone.
Register your team today!
NEW THIS YEAR: There’s a new all ages statewide tournament category in town: The Texas Two-Stop Tournament. In this category, teams visit two sites in a 48-hour period (including drive time) to see as many birds as possible!

Registration fees and sponsorship dollars go toward
Conservation Grants for birding, nature tourism, and habitat restoration and enhancement projects throughout Texas. Some winning teams will help select which projects will be funded. The more teams that register, the more funds we can award. We’ve donated $844,500 to conservation grants over the past 19 years of the event.
The registration deadline is April 1st.
Join us as we celebrate 20 years of great birding and conservation with the Great Texas Birding Classic.
