SAN MARCOS — On Friday, at approximately 11:54 p.m. local emergency crews responded to a fatal single-vehicle collision. The driver was identified as 21-year-old Bryson Waggle.

San Marcos Police, San Marcos Fire, and San Marcos Hays County EMS responded to Old Ranch Road 12 near Blanco Street for a report of a major collision. Upon arrival, the first officer on the scene located the driver of a 2019 Volkswagen Jetta unconscious and not breathing.

The officer administered CPR until medics arrived, but the driver was later pronounced deceased at the scene by Hays County Justice of the Peace Jo Anne Prado.

Waggle was the only occupant in the vehicle and no other vehicles were involved. The preliminary investigation indicates Waggle was traveling outbound and crossed the center line before the vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree.

San Marcos Police continue to investigate the crash. Corridor News will provide updates as they are made available.
