Choir Directors Dawn Sheridan-Reinhuber and Brigitte Smith brought 54 choir students who competed in a total of 55 events. The results were that 43 soloists received superior ratings (1’s), and eight received excellent ratings (2’s)—with a total of 30 students advancing to State level competition.
The all-freshman trio earned a 2, and another record was broken with four ensembles receiving Superior ratings of 1’s. All four ensembles will be advancing to State as well, to be held in Austin at the University of Texas over the Memorial Day weekend.
The following students qualified to advance to state-level competition at soloists: Thomas Bates, Shyanne Bermuda, Aleyiah Castro, Ellie Coleman, Happy Davis, Sam DeLeon, Max Esparza, Chloe Espinoza, Aimee Fulton, Gabby Garza, Kendyl Gordon, Rachel Heiser, Cody Hollifield, Danielle Kessler, Haylee Kewish, Brandon Kobayashi, Andrea Martinez, Mia Martinez, Steven Morales, Taye Ogunbase, Emma Reinhuber, Claudia Rocha, Eric Rodriguez, Cayden Rolfe, Elier Serrano, Kaela Steinbrenner, Sarah Storch, Nicole Valdez, Sarah Weaver, and Brynna Wharton.
Students advancing to state as members of an ensemble are: Leeland Batts, Geoffrey Burton, Ellie Coleman, Happy Davis, Sam DeLeon, Joaquin Garza, Rachel Heiser, Cody Hollifield, Danielle Kessler, Andrea Martinez, Steven Morales, Henry North, Emma Reinhuber, Claudia Rocha, Eric Rodriguez, Cayden Rolfe, Elier Serrano, and Bevra Williams.
Vocalists who earned superior ratings individually, but are not advancing include: Lizette Beltran, Tyra Brown, Amanda Castillo, Alicia Cruz, Damien Englehart, Joaquin Garza, Julia Graves, Josie Lesikar, Celena Parra, Sylvia Peralez, Kacie Rodriguez, Yazari Saldivar, and Sabrina Tankersley.
Ratings of “excellent” were earned by the following: Leeland Batts, Kyle Frugoni, Cierra Gonzales, Elizabeth Mahon, Mazzy Reyes, Mariyan Sosa, Jason Talamantes, and Bevra Williams.
