4th Flea vendors will remain open till 3 o’clock to allow shoppers to take in other free downtown activities, including visits with Santa, free gift wrapping and free cocoa all happening at the Courthouse on the Square from Noon to 6 p.m.

The official Lighting of the Square & Downtown proceedings are set to begin promptly at 5:30.

Sat., Nov. 26 will mark the seventh offering of the 4th Flea, which has grown to more than a dozen regular vendors frequented by a couple hundred walk-in shoppers each month.

As of press time, nearly 20 vendors had confirmed for this Saturday’s event and organizers expect a few more to sign up before Saturday.

“We’re extremely pleased with our growth and the opportunity to be a part of the Shop Small Saturday activities,” said Clay DeStefano, Price Center executive director. “This month there are a lot more vendors that will be offering gift items,” he added.

Confirmed vendors include the usual household goods, furnishings and apparel as well as jewelry makers and other artisans offering handmade crafts , one-of-kind mineral lamps unique essential oils and more.

“I have made it a habit to shop locally and small for the holidays every year,” said DeStefano. “Some of my best finds most cherished by their recipients, came from flea markets and little shops.”

4th Flea booths are still available and filled on a first come, first served basis. Monthly rent is $20 for outside space and $30 for an inside space. Private and retail vendors are welcome and encouraged.

Participants will need to bring their own tents, tables and necessary display equipment. Set up is from 8-9 a.m. the day of sale.  A limited number of tables are available to use the day of the sale for an additional $10 fee.

Proceeds from booth rentals benefit the Price Center, which is operated by the Greater San Marcos Area Seniors Association (GSMASA), a 501 (c) (3) non-profit.
