Beginning Friday, January 12 through Sunday, January 14 the Animal Services Office will be offering discounted adoption fees for all animals over 12 inches long at the Austin Animal Center, for the $5 Footlong adoption promotion.

Residents can adopt a new furry family member for only $5 instead of the normal fee of $75.

Animals are measured for length beginning at the top of the shoulders to the base of the tail. Residents are encouraged to visit the shelter to find out if their favorite furry friend measures up!

The Austin Animal Center is open from 11 AM-7 PM every day.

The Animal Services Office operates the Austin Animal Center, the largest municipal animal shelter in Central Texas and the largest “no-kill” shelter in the United States.

Providing shelter to more than 17,000 animals annually, with a goal to provide a safe place for lost and homeless animals and to educate the community in order to prevent animal homelessness and promote compassionate treatment of animals and responsible pet ownership.
