Their nightly lane closures start at 8 PM and finish by 6 AM the next morning. Please plan ahead.

If Driving To Austin Or To Austin Airport

  • Wednesday and Thursday (12/27-28) from 9 AM to 3 PM
    Manor/Springdale Road under US 183 will be reduced by one lane. In addition one lane will be closed on the US 183 frontage roads in both directions between US 290 and Manor/Springdale Road.

 

  • Wednesday through Thursday (12/27-28) from 10 PM to 6 AM
    US 183 southbound mainlanes will be closed at the Colorado River. Detour by exiting at Bolm Road and follow the detour signs to reach the Montopolis Drive bridge and access US 183 southbound. Expect Delays. If traveling to the airport for an early morning flight, plan ahead.

 

  • Wednesday (12/27) from 8 PM to 6 AM
    There will be alternating full closures of (1) US 183 southbound at US 290 and (2) the exit from US 183 southbound to Manor Road. These closures will not happen at the same time. For the first, the detour will be to take the exit from US 183 southbound to Manor Road, and drive along the frontage road till you can take the on-ramp to US 183 southbound. For the later, the detour will be to exit early at Cameron Road and take the frontage road southbound. Expect delays.

 

  • Wednesday and Thursday (12/27-28) from 8 PM to 6 AM
    Manor/Springdale Road
    will be closed in both directions under US 183. Follow signed detours.

 

  • Wednesday and Thursday (12/27-28) from 8 PM to 6 AM
    The exit from northbound US 183 to northbound Airport Boulevard will be closed. Detour by heading north on US 183 to the Bolm Road exit and following detour signs.

 

  • Thursday (12/28) from 9 AM to 3 PM
    Levander Loop will be closed between E. Cesar Chavez Street to Bolm Road. Follow detour signs to northbound US 183.

 

  • Thursday (12/28) from 8 PM to 6 AM
    There will be a full closure of US 183 southbound at US 290. Detour will be to take the exit from US 183 southbound to Manor Road, and drive along the frontage road till you can take the on-ramp to US 183 southbound. Expect delays.

 

Central Texas Regional Mobility Authority Overview & History

The Central Texas Regional Mobility Authority (CTRMA) is an independent government agency created in 2002 to improve the transportation system in Williamson and Travis counties.

According to their website, their mission is “to implement innovative, multi-modal transportation solutions that reduce congestion and create transportation choices that enhance quality of life and economic vitality.”

The Mobility Authority was created and operates under the Texas Transportation Code Chapter 370 and is authorized under state law to implement a wide range of transportation systems including roadways, airports, seaports and transit services.

The Mobility Authority is authorized to issue revenue bonds to fund projects and can utilize user fees and/or taxes to fund operations and repay bonds.
