SAN MARCOS – Webber, LLC was awarded the reconstruction contract for a portion of I-35 in Hays County by the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT).
The project scope includes the reconstruction of 2.5 miles of interstate along with new auxiliary lanes and the demolition and construction of bridges over SH 123, the Blanco River and Willow Creek. It also includes upgrades to the frontage roads and SH 123 intersection. Overall, the project will have five bridge demolitions, five new bridges and extensive sewer and electrical improvements.
“Improving I-35, one of the country’s busiest trade corridors that also serves the daily needs of local residents and businesses, is critical for Texas. We are proud to have been selected to work with TxDOT on this vital project to help Hays County keep moving forward safely,” said Miguel Verde, President of Webber’s Heavy Civil Division.
The project is scheduled to last 42 months with construction starting in September 2021.
