San Marcos, TX. – 9 years in the making; Exit 208 on SB Highway 35 adorns a new name. “Chuck Nash Loop” — named after well renowned local leader, business owner, and philanthropist — was unveiled on July 6th, 2017. Originally spearheaded by former State Representative Patrick Rose, “Chuck Nash Loop” has been the project of many state and local legislators. Roughly 18 months ago, after years of challenges, Hays County Commissioner Will Conley in conjunction with local TXDOT officials — got it done.
“Chuck Nash’s service to the San Marcos Community — over the long haul and always for the right reasons — has been foundational to our success for over 40 years,” remarked former State Representative Patrick Rose. “Chuck’s legacy of service provides a true example for all of us committed to growing businesses and families in the San Marcos Community, and I am proud that those traveling I-35 will be forever reminded of Chuck’s central role to this special part of our compelling region.”
Chuck Nash, owner of Chuck Nash Automotive, opened his car dealership in 1976, at the age of 25, making him one of the youngest dealership owners in the region. Since then, Chuck has dedicated over four decades to developing the San Marcos region, local business, and the auto sales industry in Central Texas. Chuck has previously served as a member of San Marcos Chamber Board of Directors, and currently serves on the Board of the Austin Area Chevy Dealers Association, and the Greater San Marcos Partnership, the economic development organization serving the I-35 Corridor from Austin to San Antonio.
The San Marcos Chamber of Commerce will host a ribbon cutting ceremony for Chuck Nash Loop at I-35, Exit 208. Serving thousands of drivers a day, Chuck Nash Loop is the gateway to San Marcos.
This community event will be held Wednesday, August 2; 10:00 a.m. at Chuck Nash Loop – I-35 SB Exit 208.
