The Lyndon Baines Johnson Museum of San Marcos, located at 131 North Guadalupe St., is celebrating its Ninth Annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony with a public reception, on December 10, 2015, from 5:30-7 p.m.
Students from Bonham Pre-Kindergarten School will serenade attendees with Christmas carols. The children were invited to participate at the reception in honor of the role that both President Johnson and First Lady, Lady Bird Johnson played in launching Head Start and other early education programs.
The event is free and the public is invited to attend. Cookies and punch will be served and it is said that Santa Claus may drop in for a visit to thank the children for their singing. For more information, please call Rafael Garcia, LBJ Museum Manager, at 512-353-3300 or email at director@lbjmuseum.com.
