San Marcos Consolidated Independent School District is making strides to engage its students in learning every day.
San Marcos CISD has nearly 8,000 students enrolled between its high school, two middle schools and six elementary schools according to the district’s website.
Here is a quick look at what SMCISD students and staff were up to the week of July 29 thru August 10.
San Marcos is the official “Home of the Rattlers” as the district prepares for the 2019-2020 school year to begin. Drivers near De Zavala Elementary are now greeted with the phrase written in purple across the water tower.
On July 30, the school district thanked the City of San Marcos for it support and efforts to make it possible; “It’s a great day to be a Rattler!”
The San Marcos HS volleyball team has earned the American Volleyball Coaches Association Team Academic Award for earning a team GPA of 3.74. The team has received this award for the last seven consecutive years.
San Marcos CISD thanked the 26 teachers and participating local businesses who were involved in this summer’s Externship program. The program and opportunity to collaborate between local educators and business was made possible by the San Marcos Chamber of Commerce & Workforce Solutions Rural Capital.
The District is gearing up for the first day of school, August 26. San Marcos High School will host Meet the Rattlers night on Friday, August 23, from 5 PM to 8 PM.
