San Marcos Consolidated Independent School District is making strides to engage its students in learning every day.

Here is a quick look at what SMCISD students and staff were up to the week of December 14 thru December 21.

The San Marcos Police Department’s Blue Santa and officers made a special visit to Miller Middle School on December 14 to deliver 40 Scrabble Twists to a group of Miller Middle School students in Mrs. Love’s ELA Class.

On December 19, the San Marcos High School Boys Basketball team and the Rattler Booster Club teamed up to donate more than 500 pounds of food to the Hays County Food Bank.

Mendez students and staff traveled around the globe to experience Christmas Around the World. Mendez Staff provided the full travel experience with a mock airport visit, a “flight” to the foreign country and a tasty authentic food from their country of study.

San Marcos CISD will host its inaugural Health Fair & Fun Run on Saturday, Jan. 26, 2019. The Health Fair and Fun Run is free and open to all ages. Those interested in receiving a Rattler Medal for participating in the Fun Run must register by Jan. 11, 2019. Vendor information can be found on the district’s Facebook page.

San Marcos CISD Campuses and officers closed for the holiday break on December 21. Staff will return on January 7, 2019, for a Work Day. And students will be back in the classroom January 8, 2019, for the first day of the Spring semester.
