AAC Hosts 2nd Sunrise Adoption Event, Skip The Wait To Adopt

Austin Animal Center (AAC) will be hosting the second Sunrise Adoption event on Saturday, September 26, starting at 7 AM.

The first Sunrise Adoption event which took place on Saturday, September 12, resulted in 14 dogs finding new homes in just three short hours.

Saturday, September 26
7 AM to 10 AM
7201 Levander Loop

Safety measures enacted due to COVID-19 has severely limited occupancy at the shelter, resulting in long wait times for potential adopters.

Appointments are needed to visit the shelter to find a new furry friend, and adoption appointments book up weeks in advance.

The Sunrise Adoption event will be a no-appointment-needed event and will feature a limited number of pre-selected dogs who are ready to find their forever home.

The event will take place on the AAC front lawn so that social distancing requirements can be met, and a face covering will be required to attend the event.

The Sunrise superstar dogs will be stationed around the lawn where potential adopters can line up to meet them. All adoptions will be on a first-come, first-served basis.

The shelter facility will not be open during this event, and adoptions will be limited to the dogs stationed on the lawn.

Adoption fees are continuing to be waived for all animals at AAC, during the Sunrise Adoption event, animals in the shelter, and animals in foster care.
