183 South scheduled road construction, closures, detours for week of May 31

Austin — Short and long-term lane, road closures, and detours that may impact drivers along US 183 and adjacent roadways in east Austin.

Below is an overview of the 183 South project’s lane, road, and ramp closures. Work continues along US 183, including bridge construction, roadway installation, sound wall work, utility work.

The Central Texas Regional Mobility Authority is an independent government agency created in 2002 to improve the transportation system in Williamson and Travis counties.

The Mobility Authority is overseen by a seven-member Board of Directors. The Governor appoints the Chairman, and the Travis and Williamson counties Commissioners Courts each appoint three members to serve on the Board.

Short Term

LANE CLOSURE — 5/25/21 to 6/4/21 — EXCAVATION
Tuesday -Wednesday (5/25-5/26) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., Tuesday -Thursday (6/1-6/3) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., Southbound US 183 to eastbound SH 71 will be reduced to one lane at SH 71.

LANE CLOSURE — 5/28/21 to 6/2/21 — PAVING
Friday (5/28) 12 a.m. to 6 a.m., Tuesday (6/1) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., US 183 southbound left mainlane will be closed from SH 71 to E. Riverside Dr. and E. Riverside Dr. crossover will be closed at US 183, detour via SH 71 westbound cloverleaf.

LANE CLOSURE — 6/1/21 to 6/4/21 — GUARDRAIL WORK
Tuesday-Friday (6/1-6/4) 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., US 183 southbound left general purpose lane will be closed from Montopolis to Patton Ave.

LANE CLOSURE — 6/1/21 to 6/4/21 — GUARDRAIL WORK
Tuesday-Friday (6/1-6/4) 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., US 183 right general purpose in both directions will be closed from 51st to Manor Rd.

LANE CLOSURE — 6/1/21 to 6/4/21 — GUARDRAIL WORK
Tuesday-Friday (6/1-6/4) 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Southbound US 183 right mainlane will be closed from SH 71 to E. Riverside Dr.

RAMP CLOSURE — 6/1/21 to 6/3/21 — PAVING
Tuesday-Wednesday (6/1-6/2) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., Southbound US 183 to westbound SH 71 will be closed at SH 71. Detour via E. Riverside Dr.

ROAD CLOSURE — 6/1/21 to 6/4/21 — PAVING
Tuesday-Thursday (6/1-6/3) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., Thompson Ln. will be closed at US 183 and the north frontage road will be reduced to one lane at Thompson. Detour via Old Bastrop Hwy and Dalton Lane.

RAMP CLOSURE — 6/1/21 to 6/3/21 — PAVING
Tuesday-Wednesday (6/1-6/2) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., Southbound US 183 to Eastbound SH 71 towards Austin Airport will be closed at US 183. Detour via E. Riverside Dr. U-turn.

LANE CLOSURE — 6/1/21 to 6/3/21 — PAVING
Tuesday-Wednesday (6/1-6/2) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., Eastbound SH 71 towards the Austin Airport will be reduced to one lane from E. Riverside Dr. to Brandt.

Tuesday-Wednesday (6/1-6/2) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., Southbound US 183 general purpose will be reduced to one lane from US 290 to Manor Rd.

ROAD CLOSURE — 6/2/21 to 6/5/21 — PAVING
Wednesday-Friday (6/2-6/4) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., US 183 northbound general purpose will be closed at Techni Center Dr. Detour via on-ramp at Central Ave. through MLK Blvd. by-pass.

RAMP CLOSURE — 6/2/21 to 6/4/21 — PAVING
Wednesday-Thursday (6/2-6/3) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., Eastbound 7th St. ramp to US 183 will be closed. Detour via Levander Loop to Shady Ln. to Cesar Chavez to southbound US 183.

RAMP CLOSURE — 6/2/21 to 6/4/21 — PAVING
Wednesday-Thursday (6/2-6/3) 8 p.m. to 6 .a.m., Southbound Airport Blvd. will be closed at US 183. Detour via Levander Loop to Shady Ln. to Cesar Chavez to southbound US 183.

RAMP CLOSURE — 6/3/21 to 6/4/21 — PAVING
Thursday (6/3) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., Eastbound Cesar Chavez/1st St. will be closed at US 183. Detour via Shady Ln. to 7th St.

RAMP CLOSURE — 6/3/21 to 6/6/21 — PAVING
Thursday (6/3) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., Friday (6/4) 8 p.m. to 10 a.m., Saturday (6/5) 6 p.m. to 10 a.m., US 183 southbound general purpose will be reduced to one lane from US 290 to Loyola and on-ramp will be closed at Dubuque Ln., traffic to travel through signalized intersection at Manor Springdale Rd.

LANE CLOSURE — 6/4/21 to 6/6/21 — PAVING

Friday (6/4) 8 p.m. through Sunday (6/6) at 6 p.m., Southbound US 183 left lane will be closed at Manor Springdale Rd. and Eastbound Manor Springdale Rd. right two lanes will be closed.

LANE CLOSURE — 6/4/21 to 6/6/21 — DRAINAGE WORK
Friday (6/4) 8 p.m. through Sunday (6/6) at 6 p.m., Northbound US 183 right two mainlanes will be closed Thompson to Montopolis.

Tuesday (5/18) at 9 a.m. until Monday (6/21) at 3 p.m., US 183 northbound frontage road will be reduced to one lane from Manor Springdale to US 290.
