AGE of Central Texas partnering with area churches for Health & Wellness Town Hall Meeting

AGE of Central Texas is partnering with St. James Missionary Baptist Church – located at 3417 East Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. in Austin – for a Town Hall Meeting on Wednesday, June 1st, at 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.  The free event will discuss health and wellness opportunities in the community.

Rev. Dr. Nathan Robertson, Jr., and Dr. B.W. McClendon, Sr., will moderate the meeting. Jeneice Hall, Austin Public Health Program Coordinator, and Larry Wallace, Sr., from the Black Men’s Health Clinic will be the keynote speakers to discuss solutions to the health challenges in the community due to COVID-19.

The program will also include information from Bryan D. Potter, owner of Navigator Health Insurance Consulting, and Rob Faubion from AGE of Central Texas will share resources and program available for older adults and family caregivers.

Nurses and students from the University of Texas School of Nursing will also be on-hand with free COVID vaccinations and boosters. Attendees can also schedule their vaccinations or boosters for future dates.

A follow-up Heath & Wellness Fair will be held on Saturday, July 9th, from 10:00 am to Noon at Givens Recreation Center, located at 3811 East 12th Street in Austin. Free COVID vaccinations and boosters will also be available at this event, along with resources and information from community health partners.
