Amigos En Azul And Austin Police Association Provide Free Food For Kids

The concert series is a family tradition for Austin and surrounding areas at the Oswaldo A.B. Cantu/Pan American Recreation Center.

The Austin Police Association (APA) and APD’s Amigos En Azul celebrated at the 60th Hillside Summer Concert Series, by providing food for children who attended.

The organizations grilled hot dogs, with the goal of giving back and strengthening relationships with the communities Austin Police serve.

The concert series is a family tradition for Austin and surrounding areas at the Oswaldo A.B. Cantu/Pan American Recreation Center. This is Austin’s longest running outside concert series.

Music line up

  • 6:30 p.m. Los Diamantez
  • 7:30 p.m. Los Texas Wranglers with special guests Joe Bravo and Augustin Ramirez
  • 8:30 p.m. Santiago Jimenez and Flaco Jimenez

Future Event Lineup APA & Amigos en Azul will attend – 7/24/18

  • 6:30 p.m. – Trampia & Lench Martinez
  • 7:00 p.m. – Los A-T Boyz
  • 8:15 p.m. – Ruben Ramos & the Mexican Revolution

Amigos en Azul, or “Friends in Blue,” was founded in 1982 to better bridge the gap between the Hispanic community and the Austin Police Department.
