Angels Of Love To Host 2019 Sexual Assault Awareness & Prevention Training Conference

The 2019 Sexual Assault Awareness & Prevention Training Conference will be held on Monday, November 18, and Tuesday, November 19, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM at the Radisson Hotel McAllen Airport, 2721 S. 10th Street, McAllen.  

The purpose of this two day conference is to provide training to those who work with sexual assault victims or in the domestic abuse arena including social workers, law enforcement, child protective services social workers and investigators, nurses, educators, children’s advocacy, therapists, attorneys and clinicians who work with sex abuse victims.  

Conference topics include: Counterintuitive Victim Behavior – Behaviors of victims after sexual assault – How these behaviors influence the court procedures, Impact of Sexual Abuse on Victims – Reasons for delayed disclosure, Adolescent Brain Immaturity and Impact on Offending – Types of offenders mitigated by immaturity, Ethical Issues in Working with Juveniles – Ethical and effective treatment vs. unethical and ineffective treatment, Ethical Issues in Working with Juveniles – Ethical issues when working with adolescents and their families, Risk/Needs/Responsivity and Family Therapy – Effective treatment for adolescents, Typology of Adolescents and Adults with Sexual Behavior Problems, Antisocial Thinking in Adolescents as Related to Sexual Offending, Detection of Deception Among Juveniles with Sexual Behavior Problems, Predators: Pedophiles  and Other Sex Offenders: Who They Are, How They Operate and How We Can Protect Our Children.

This conference is being hosted by Angels of Love in collaboration with the Hidalgo County District Attorney’s Office.

This two-day conference has been approved for 14.75 CLE and CEU hours including 3.0 hours in Ethics.  Seating is very limited.  The conference is $150.00 for those who register by November 1, 2019, and lunch is included. Registration is $200 after November 1, 2019.
