SAN MARCOS, TX – Fresh on the heels of their successful San Marcos premiere last month, the Aquarena Springs Symphonic Band (ASSB) will bring a patriotic performance to the Price Center on June 27 at 5 p.m. The concert will help usher in the 4th of July Holiday week via a selection of Americana Music.
The 30-piece community band will again perform in the 1910 Room and the performance will also again serve as a fundraiser for the Price Center. Tickets for the special performance are limited to 70. Reservations and a minimum donation of $10 per person required.
“We were very pleased with the Band’s inaugural concert here last month,” said Clay DeStefano, executive director. “The audience loved the performance, the Band was thrilled to perform, and we helped raise some much-needed funds to help our ongoing recovery from COVID,” he added.
Musical director and conductor Michael Thielen is pulling together an engaging collection of selections to celebrate America. ASSB is composed of volunteer musicians — ranging in age from college students to working professionals to retirees — with diverse backgrounds, experiences, and cultures, who share a desire to perform and develop beyond their school experiences. Musicians from each neighboring county, and throughout the hill country and beyond, are welcome to join.
Seats will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Call 512-392-2900 or email: info@price-center.org to reserve your seat.
For more information, please call 512-392-2900, stop by the Center at 222 W. San Antonio St., or visit price-center.org or Facebook @ Price Center & Garden.
