Associate Director At Meadows Center, Joins Hill Country Alliance Board Of Directors

Bee Cave – The Hill Country Alliance (HCA) is proud to announce that Emily Warren, a water resources expert with more than 15 years of experience in the public sector, recently joined as the newest member to the HCA Board of Directors.

Warren is currently the Associate Director for the Meadows Center for Water and the Environment at Texas State University, a research and education center dedicated to inspiring leadership and research that ensures clean, abundant water for the environment and all humanity. She also serves as the Operations Director for a nonprofit organization, United4Iran, that focuses on using technology to engage citizens in advancing their civil liberties.

“Emily brings talent, passion, and expertise to this Board. Her knowledge of Hill Country water resource science and policy will bring a new depth to our organization’s programming,” said Dr. Leo Tynan, HCA Board President. “We couldn’t be happier to have her on our team.”

Warren’s work in Texas has focused on providing the science that supports policy, watershed management, land and water conservation and sustainable use of natural resources. Prior to joining the Meadows Center, she served as the Policy and Regulatory Coordinator for the Texas Parks & Wildlife Department and as a Programme and Management Consultant to the United Nations Development Programme’s Global Healthcare Waste Project.

“I’ve always admired HCA’s commitment to raise awareness and support for the preservation of our natural resources in the Hill Country. My work with the Meadows Center aligns perfectly with HCA’s mission and we’ve been able to collaborate in many ways throughout the years,” Warren said. “HCA is a great organization with an amazing staff, so I’m excited to continue this collaboration more closely as a member of the Board of Directors.”

Katherine Romans, HCA Executive Director, shared Dr. Tynan’s enthusiasm. “Emily is a respected natural resources professional who will bring a wealth of experience to our Board,” Romans said. “Her understanding of the links between policy, scientific research, and the environment will add a valuable perspective to help guide our work and inform our mission.”

Warren holds a Bachelor’s degree of Science in Ecology, Ethology and Evolution; a Bachelor’s degree of Science in Pre-Medicine; a Master’s degree of Science in Environmental Science; and a Master’s degree in Public Affairs.
