This Saturday, August 4, Austin Animal Center will host the fifth Annual Luau Meow waived fee cat adoption event from 11 a.m. – 7 p.m. Luau Meow is the purrfect opportunity for families to add a new feline family member.

Adoption fees for all cats and kittens at the shelter that day will be waived. In addition, kittens raised in foster care will be back at the shelter from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. in hopes of finding their forever family. Their foster parents will be in attendance to tell potential adopters all about their furry foster kiddos.

The Austin Animal Center continues to be overcrowded and hopes that Luau Meow will bring some much needed relief to the cat and kitten population at the shelter.

“Themed adoption events like Luau Meow are not only fun for adopters and staff, but they really help create some much needed kennel space, so we can continue helping Austin’s homeless cats and kittens”, said Jennifer Olohan, Communications and Media Manager for Austin Animal Center.

Adoption fees at AAC are normally $75 and include all age-appropriate vaccinations, spay/neuter surgery, microchip and ID tag. To adopt a pet, visit the shelter at 7201 Levander Loop any day between 11 a.m. – 7 p.m.

The Animal Services Office operates the Austin Animal Center, the largest municipal animal shelter in Central Texas and the largest “no-kill” shelter in the United States.
