Austin-Area Simon Properties Continue More Than Pink Drive With Susan G. Komen

AUSTIN, TX– Barton Creek Square, The Domain, Lakeline Mall, Round Rock Premium Outlets and San Marcos Premium Outlets today announced their Spring 2017 More Than Pink movement in support of Susan G. Komen and the fight against breast cancer.

As part of its pledge to donate $1 million each year in 2017 and 2018, more than 180 participating Simon Malls, The Mills and Premium Outlets nationwide will be participating in a range of activities during the months of April and May.

“It has been wonderful to see the positive response that the More Than Pink movement has generated over the past year,” said Kristen Esposito, Simon’s Vice President of Tourism and Marketing Alliances. “Our shoppers, retailers and employees have embraced the opportunities we’ve offered to support Susan G. Komen in its tireless efforts to reduce breast cancer deaths, and we look forward to continuing that momentum this year.”

Visitors to The Domain and San Marcos Premium Outlets will notice the pink theme carried out at the Guest Services booths and staff will be donning pink accessories at all properties. Other planned activities include:

Discount Card Program: Through May 31, in exchange for a $10 donation to Susan G. Komen, shoppers at Barton Creek Square, The Domain, Lakeline Mall, Round Rock Premium Outlets and San Marcos Premium Outlets will receive a Discount Card, available at Guest Services or the Mall Office, providing up to 25% off one item at each participating retailer. All Discount Card donations go to Susan G. Komen.

Project OM: Manduka, a leading yoga mat and accessory brand, is partnering with Susan G. Komen to launch “Project OM,” a mindful movement to drive positive change on an epic level. Project OM’s debut event, taking place Mother’s Day weekend – Friday, May 12 through Sunday, May 14 – gathers one million people to participate in the world’s largest yoga class. The massive event aims to unite individuals, families and the collective yoga community to raise funds to support Susan G. Komen’s Bold Goal to reduce the current number of breast cancer deaths by 50 percent in the U.S. by 2026.

Barton Creek Square and The Domain will participate in project OM with classes offered on Saturday, May 13. To register, please visit https://www.manduka.com/projectom/. A $10 online donation will give shoppers access to the class and a voucher to present at Guest Services for a discount card (25% off participating retailers).

Registration at Barton Creek Square will begin at 9:30 a.m. and the class will be held from 10-10:45 a.m. Guests are asked to use the entrance between AMC Theatre and The Cheesecake Factory. In addition to a SGK Discount card, participants will receive mimosas after the class, a gift bag and a yoga mat with $10 donation.

The Domain will host classes at 9 a.m., 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 13 on the lawn in Domain II.

More Than Pink Hero Wall: An opportunity for survivors and their families to visually celebrate and honor the hero who inspires and uplifts them through their fight with breast cancer. For a $1 donation at Barton Creek Square, shoppers will receive a pink sticker on which they can write the name of the ‘More Than Pink’ Hero and place it on the wall. All proceeds go to Susan G. Komen. 

Local Programming: Barton Creek Square – Barton Creek Square will host activations on Saturdays in May, as well as Saturday, Sunday and Monday of Memorial Day Weekend (May 27-29), including a lipstick reader, screen printing photos onto cookies, henna and more. A $1 donation to the More Than Pink Hero Wall will be required to participate.

The Domain – On Saturday, May 13 in conjunction with project OM classes at 9 a.m., 10 a.m. and 11 a.m., The Domain will host fun activities and activations including a lipstick reader, a braid bar, refreshments, a photo booth, an Instagram cookie station and more.

Lakeline Mall – Lakeline Mall invites area residents to Paint, Pinot & Pink on Thursday, May 11 from 6-8 p.m.  Proceeds from the $35 class will go toward breast cancer research. Participants will receive a SGK Discount Card, a make-up goody bag, other fun items, as well as refreshments during the event. San Marcos Premium Outlets – Customers who purchase the SGK Discount Card will receive a free Warriors in Pink scarf, while supplies last.

As of April 2017, Simon has raised $441,667 in support of Susan G. Komen, all generated through the support and participation of shoppers, retailers and employees.
