Need To Know Road Closures For US 183

 

 

  • CONTINUOUSLY from Friday, May 11, at 8 pm to Monday, May 14, at 6 am, southeast-bound 1st, 5th, and 7th Streets will be closed at Montopolis Drive. Follow signed detour via Levander Loop. Expect Delays. If heading to the airport, please plan ahead.

 

  • Friday (5/11) from 8 pm to 6 am, southbound US 183 at SH 71 will be closed. All southbound traffic will detour by exiting for westbound SH 71, taking the U-turn at E. Riverside Drive, and heading eastbound on SH 71 to the US 183 southbound exit. Expect Delays. If heading to the airport in the late evening/early morning, please plan ahead.

 

  • Friday (5/11) from 8 pm to 10 am, the US 183 southbound mainlanes will be closed over Manor/Springdale Road. All traffic will exit at the Manor Road off ramp and take the frontage roads to the US 183 entrance ramp south of Manor/Springdale Road.

 

  • Friday (5/11) from 8 pm to 10 am, there will be a series of ramp and road closures at US 183 and SH 71:

RAMP: SH 71 eastbound to US 183 northbound; detour at Spirit of Texas U-turn to head west for the ramp to US 183 northbound

ROAD: US 183 northbound under SH 71; detour by heading east on SH 71 and taking the U-turn at Spirit of Texas to head west for the ramp to US 183 northbound

ROAD: US 183 southbound under SH 71; detour by heading west on SH 71 and taking the U-turn at E. Riverside Drive to head east for the ramp to US 183 southbound

ROAD: SH 71 westbound at US 183; detour by heading north on US 183 to the crossover at Palm Harbor homes, head south on US 183 and take the exit for SH 71 westbound

 

  • Monday through Friday (5/14-18) from 9 am to 3 pm, the US 183 southbound frontage road will be reduced by one lane from US 290 to Loyola Lane.

 

  • Monday through Friday (5/14-18) from 8 pm to 6 am, southbound US 183 at SH 71 will be closed. All southbound traffic will detour by exiting for westbound SH 71, taking the U-turn at E. Riverside Drive, and heading eastbound on SH 71 to the US 183 southbound exit. Expect Delays. If heading to the airport in the late evening/early morning, please plan ahead.

 

  • Tuesday (5/15) from midnight to 6 am, the US 183 southbound mainlanes will be closed between 51st Street and MLK Jr., Blvd. All traffic will exit MLK Jr., Blvd and travel through the intersection to take the entrance ramp for US 183 southbound.

 

  • Thursday and Friday (5/17-18) from 8 pm to 6 am, the exit to Airport Boulevard, Cesar Chavez, 5th, and 7th Street from northbound US 183 will be closed. Follow US 183 northbound to the Bolm Road exit and follow the detour signs.

The Central Texas Regional Mobility Authority (CTRMA) is an independent government agency created in 2002 to improve the transportation system in Williamson and Travis counties.

According to their website, their mission is “to implement innovative, multi-modal transportation solutions that reduce congestion and create transportation choices that enhance quality of life and economic vitality.”

The Mobility Authority was created and operates under the Texas Transportation Code Chapter 370 and is authorized under state law to implement a wide range of transportation systems including roadways, airports, seaports and transit services.

The Mobility Authority is authorized to issue revenue bonds to fund projects and can utilize user fees and/or taxes to fund operations and repay bonds.
