Need To Know Road Closures For US 183 South •

Friday (7/20) from 8 pm to 10 am and Tuesday through Wednesday (7/24-25) from 8 pm to 6 am, the US 183 southbound exit ramp to MLK Jr., Blvd will be closed. Traffic will detour by exiting early at 51st Street and taking a left on Springdale Drive to access MLK Jr., Blvd.

 

Monday through Friday (7/23-27) from 9 am to 3 pm, the US 183 northbound frontage road will be reduced by one lane between Manor/Springdale Road and US 290.

 

Monday through Wednesday (7/23-25) from 8 pm to 6 am, the exit to northbound Airport Boulevard at US 183 will be closed. Northbound traffic to continue on US 183 and take the signed detour at the Bolm Road exit. Also, US 183 southbound at the River will be closed. Traffic will exit Bolm Road and take Levander Loop to the southbound Airport Blvd entrance ramp to US 183. Expect Delays. If headed to the airport, plan ahead.

 

Monday through Tuesday (7/23-24) from 8 pm to 6 am, the SH 71 westbound exit ramp to US 183 southbound will be closed. Detour by exiting for the U-turn at E. Riverside Drive and heading eastbound on SH 71 to the US 183 southbound exit.

 

Tuesday (7/24) from 9 am to 3 pm, the US 183 southbound frontage road’s right turn lane will be closed at MLK Jr., Blvd.

 

Thursday (7/26) from 8 pm to 6 am and Friday (7/27) from 8 pm to 10 am, southbound US 183 at SH 71 will be closed. All southbound traffic will detour by exiting for westbound SH 71, taking the U-turn at E. Riverside Drive, and heading eastbound on SH 71 to the US 183 southbound exit. Expect Delays. If traveling to the airport, plan ahead.

 

Friday (7/27) from 8 pm to 6 am, the on ramp to US 183 southbound from MLK Jr., Blvd will be closed. Drivers will follow a signed detour via Tannehill Lane to TechniCenter Drive to access southbound US 183. Also, the US 183 southbound mainlanes will be reduced by one lane between 51st Street and Technicenter Drive.

The Central Texas Regional Mobility Authority (CTRMA) is an independent government agency created in 2002 to improve the transportation system in Williamson and Travis counties.
According to their website, their mission is “to implement innovative, multi-modal transportation solutions that reduce congestion and create transportation choices that enhance quality of life and economic vitality.”
The Mobility Authority was created and operates under the Texas Transportation Code Chapter 370 and is authorized under state law to implement a wide range of transportation systems including roadways, airports, seaports and transit services.
The Mobility Authority is authorized to issue revenue bonds to fund projects and can utilize user fees and/or taxes to fund operations and repay bonds.
