Need To Know Road Closures For US 183

• Wednesday through Thursday (6/6-7) from 8 pm to 6 am, southbound US 183 at SH 71 will be closed. All southbound traffic will detour by exiting for westbound SH 71, taking the U-turn at E. Riverside Drive, and heading eastbound on SH 71 to the US 183 southbound exit. Expect Delays. If traveling to the airport, plan ahead.      

• Monday through Friday (6/4-8, 11-15, and 18-22) from 9 am to 4 pm, the US 183 southbound frontage road will be closed by one lane between US 290 and Manor/Springdale Road.

• Monday through Tuesday (6/4-5) from 9 am to 5 pm, the US 183 southbound frontage road’s right turn lane will be closed at MLK Jr., Blvd.

• Tuesday (6/5) from 10 pm to 10:30 pm, there will be rolling road block operations along US 183 in both directions between Hudson Street and Boggy Creek. These road blocks may impact travel for approximately 20 minutes. Expect Delays.

The Central Texas Regional Mobility Authority (CTRMA) is an independent government agency created in 2002 to improve the transportation system in Williamson and Travis counties.

According to their website, their mission is “to implement innovative, multi-modal transportation solutions that reduce congestion and create transportation choices that enhance quality of life and economic vitality.”

The Mobility Authority was created and operates under the Texas Transportation Code Chapter 370 and is authorized under state law to implement a wide range of transportation systems including roadways, airports, seaports and transit services.

The Mobility Authority is authorized to issue revenue bonds to fund projects and can utilize user fees and/or taxes to fund operations and repay bonds.
