Austin Simply Fit And Yard Bar Partner To Support Austin Pets Alive!

AUSTIN, Texas – On October 30, 2019, Austin Simply Fit and Yard Bar announced Pull for Paws, a community deadlift event, to raise money for Austin Pets Alive! on Nov. 9, 2019, from 11 AM to 4 PM.

Guests can attend or participate in the fundraiser where athletes and pet-lovers alike will showcase their deadlift strength and help give man’s best friends another chance at finding their fur-ever homes.

This is a donation-based event and the recommended donation for participation in the deadlift event is $25; the recommended donation for spectators is $10. Those interested in donating and signing up can learn more here.

“At Austin Simply Fit, it is important to us to engage the Austin community through fitness and help support causes that are close to our hearts,” said Krista Bergeron, co-founder and CFO of Austin Simply Fit. “Austin is a vibrant community with a passion for fitness and a devotion to the welfare of animals. We are proud to bring the community together at Yard Bar next month for a pet adoption day; giving Austinites a chance to flex their muscles in our deadlift competition while raising money to support Austin Pets Alive!. We are hopeful APA! animals will be adopted during the event.”

Pull for Paws is a community deadlift event for anyone, and everyone is encouraged to take on the feat of strength and give back to the community.

All proceeds from the event will go directly to support Austin Pets Alive! and help offset their $24,000 per day operating costs while shining a light on some of Austin’s most adoptable fur-friends. Pull for Paws hopes to raise 10 percent of those daily costs with this first event.

“As one of Austin’s top-rated places to be social with your dogs we jumped at the opportunity to bridge a big piece of Austin’s fitness culture with Austin’s pet-loving culture,” said Keith Sobieralski, General Manager of Yard Bar. “This event showcases the power of Austin’s individual communities and we hope it will spur more collaboration among groups to serve Austin at large and continue to make this a better place to live.”

Pull for Paws will also feature event supporters Nulo, Longhorn EMS, Purrfect Paws and Co., and Kendra Scott. Austin Pets Alive! will feature a dog adoption station available for event-goers to meet with some of Austin’s most adoptable dogs (with the opportunity to adopt onsite!) and learn more about other animals currently looking for their fur-ever homes.

Proceeds from the supporter tables will be donated to Austin Pets Alive!, and Yard Bar will match the first $500 through their Give Back Fund. Additional donations will be tallied after the event and the results will be shared on the Pull for Paws Facebook page.
