Austin-Travis County Extends Protections Related To Tenants and Issuances Of Notices To Vacate

Austin, Texas — Austin Mayor Steve Adler announced an extension to his order related to tenants and notices to vacate as part of continued relief during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The updated orders, effective immediately, extend through February 1, 2021.

Similar to the previous extension, the updated orders include the circumstances when a landlord is prohibited from issuing a Notice to Vacate to residential and commercial evictions.

On December 17, 2020, Travis County Judge Andy Brown issued County Judge Order No. 2020-22 relating to Notices to Vacate and Eviction Proceedings in response to COVID-19.

This order also extends the prohibition of eviction proceedings to February 1, 2021.
