San Marcos, TX – Local fiber and basket artist Cricket Rose is bringing basket weaving back to the Price Center via a two-day workshop Feb. 3 and 4 in which participants will make 2—3 different heart baskets.
All materials will be provided, advance registration is required, and a $35 fee is due at the time of registration.
“This latest workshop is a nice addition to the ongoing heritage arts practiced regularly at the Center via a Quilting Bee and Porcelain Painting Club as well as various art workshops we’ve hosted through Lifelong Learning and other artists,” said Clay DeStefano, executive director. “Folks seem to like the short-term commitment mixed with the ability to learn a new creative skill and walk away with a finished product,” he added.
Feb. 3 from 1 to 5 PM will focus on a basket shaped like a heart with two choices of rims
Feb. 4 from 1 to 5 PM will focus on completing rims and assembling Swedish paper Hearts and for faster weavers, puffy heart baskets.
To register or for more information, please call the Price Center directly at 512-392-2900 or stop by 222 W. San Antonio St., downtown San Marcos, Mon. – Fri., 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.
