Best Friends for Life! Sign up now for the BFFL Inclusion Program

Registration has begun for a free six week “Best Friends for Life” (BFFL) program for children of all abilities sponsored by the City of San Marcos Parks and Recreation Department and the Texas State University Therapeutic Recreation graduate program.

Kids ages 3-13 are invited to attend the free program held on Mondays for six weeks from 5:30 – 6:30 p.m. from Feb. 29-April 11 at the San Marcos Activity Center, 501 E. Hopkins. The program will take the week of Spring Break off.

“Parks and Recreation is excited to bring back this program for the third year in partnership with Texas State. We have had great success in the past and not only is it a wonderful opportunity for the participants, it also provides real life experience for the college students,” said Jessica Ramos, Youth Services Manager.

Everyone is encouraged to bring their best friend—be it parent, sibling, school buddy, neighbor, or anyone! Participants should also bring their wheelchair, walker, service animal, or anything else they use. Participants and their best friends will get the opportunity to enjoy arts and crafts, games, aquatics and handle horses.

Registration for the program is now open and participants can sign up at the San Marcos Parks and Recreation Main Office (401 E. Hopkins) or the San Marcos Activity Center (501 E. Hopkins), or by calling 512.393.8400.
