Blue Moon Optical Named Downtown Business Of The Month

“I think what separates Blue Moon Optical is that we treat people like people, and we care more about the patient rather than what’s in their pocket,” Duffy said. “I try my best to do something good for the community.”

On November 8, the San Marcos Main Street program announced the Downtown Business of the Month, Blue Moon Optical.

Blue Moon Optical received the business of the month award for “their unique frames, compassionate customer service and dedication to the San Marcos community.”

Family-owned and operated, Blue Moon Optical first opened in Downtown San Marcos in 2014.

Originally from California, owner Patrick Duffy moved to Austin over a decade ago. He relocated to San Marcos in 2013 and fell in love with its small town charm and big city amenities.

Duffy is dedicated to the “beautiful community” of San Marcos because of their immense support and assistance after his house was struck by the 2015 Memorial Day flood.

Duffy was inspired to pay the kindness forward, repairing and restoring glasses frames recovered from the flood at no cost to their owners.

“I think what separates Blue Moon Optical is that we treat people like people, and we care more about the patient rather than what’s in their pocket,” Duffy said. “I try my best to do something good for the community.”

Blue Moon Optical is located at 121 W San Antonio St, and the San Marcos Main Street Program congratulates them for their uniqueness, compassionate customer service and dedication to the local community.

If you know of a business within the Downtown San Marcos area that fulfills the criteria below and is worthy of this award, please contact Main Street at mainstreet@sanmarcostx.gov.
