Bobcat Alum And Professional Baseball Player Returns For 10th Annual Leadoff Dinner

Former TXST baseball player and current Arizona Diamondback Paul Goldschmidt will return to his alma mater and serve as guest speaker for the dinner.

SAN MARCOS, Texas – The Texas State baseball team has announced the date and time for the 10th Annual Leadoff Dinner, which will be the showcase event of Alumni Weekend.

The Leadoff Dinner will be held Feb. 9 at The Chandelier of Gruene in New Braunfels. The cocktail social mixer is scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m., with the dinner portion of the event to follow at 7:30 p.m.

Former TXST baseball player and current Arizona Diamondback Paul Goldschmidt will return to his alma mater and serve as guest speaker for the dinner. He recently wrapped up a 2017 MLB campaign that saw the slugger finish third in the American League MVP voting.

The Leadoff Dinner is an annual event that brings baseball alumni, Bobcat supporters, family, friends and the current team together to raise money for Texas State baseball and gain excitement for the upcoming season.

Patrons will also have the opportunity to bid on a wide range of items through silent and live auctions.

The Leadoff Dinner will be an opportunity for fans to meet the 2018 Texas State baseball team and hear Head Coach Ty Harrington preview the upcoming season, set to begin with a three-game series against Oklahoma State Feb. 16-18 at Bobcat Ballpark.

Individual seats are $100, while a full table of eight (8) guests is $1,000 and a half table of four (4) guests is $500.

The Alumni Game is scheduled for a 4 p.m. start on Feb. 10. All Texas State baseball alumni are encouraged to attend.
